not really no, although i suppose its no diferent to buying from a newspaper, petshop etc
#2
What is special about animals that would deem them from being unsuitable from being traded on the internet?
#3
It is completely wrong and ridiculous!
#4
Yeh bellabonkers this thread go same way...

I not really thought about it before, but I guess yeh,I've seen adverts online for sale of animals etc, like dog sites for ppl selling puppies etc.

It just does not seem right to me that a living thing should be traded. If i had an animal to re-home i'd want to make sure it was going to a good home and check the place out.
not just accept the right price

Are you serious? They are living things!
I can see now that i am going to have to block this thread from my list as i am going to get irate with peoples comments on it! When it comes to animals they should be treated kind and fairly!:x

i would never trade any of my pets, i had to give away my puppy not too long ago as my partner bought him for me but with me finding out i was pregnant wasnt very pratical, but i did a home check, spent most of the day with the family to make sure he settled in, and ive been kept updated on him.

As long as there is plenty room in the box and the animal has adequate food and water within i don't see a problem with it.

no i wasnt getting at you :)
this is after the dog thread thats been pulled :)

Nope, I don't think it is appropriate.

You don't know who you are giving the pet to, or what they will do with it.

If you have to get rid of a animal, take it to a rehoming centre

i could never have an animal and let it have babies and then give them away, it just seems cruel, i know you will say im barmy but i just couldnt

and for all those who say we have found loving homes, nobody knows what really goes on behind closed doors, you see what people want you to

But surely it's the same as any other medium? You made it specific to the internet, that's why I asked the question.

I haven't seen the threads that have raised these questions. I never mentioned anything about the treatment of animals, just wondered what the difference is to seeing one advertised on the internet as opposed to one being advertised in the back of my local paper?
#17
To put things into perspective, the thread in question was somebody asking if somebody had a dog they could no longer care for or whatever, for their mother who could no longer work and was bored on her own. They were'nt asking for it to be sent via post or anything lol.
Just an explanation for anybody that missed the pulled thread.

Not the sort of thing i want to think about but yeah i agree!

People often make spur of the moment descisions and impulse buy on the net. Taking on an animal, needs
careful consideration and planning, but i'd say its ok on a dedicated local type forum or group but not particularly good or appropriate to advertise here. I think illlegal items like dangerous laser should definately be banned

Okay, the OP should have more information in it. Unless someone read the thread that has been removed, they would not know what the question being asked is pertaining to.

This was the kind of thing I was thinking of about someone advertising on here to sell their dog.

People have been selling their pets in local newspapers etc for decades,it doesn't really seem any different than doing it on gumtree etc.

i think its a shame for a person who has to find a new home for a pet cos they can't keep for whatever reasons.

I ain't going be selling any pets or giving away cos I have what I'll keep.

yeah because you hit expire, noone else, thats why only you can see it - lmfao

I don't agree with that site either. People that breed their pets just for cash is wrong in my opinion.

There are plenty of pets that need good homes at RSPCA etc.
#30
Using the net is a great way to ensure you get the right people interested, just because someone shows an interest in a pet you no longer want does not mean you have to trade/sell it to someone who is wrong for your pet. The Internet does not stop you doing all the usual house checks etc before you do the final deal......

Why not? Pure white pedigree Alsatian is half the price from a breeder in Cornwall than where I live so I'm happy that animals are advertised online

pets are not allowed to be sold on ebay. dont know why, or if this is significant to this website? i can agree with everyone. i would never sell a pet... but how many would buy one online? i think i would like to see where it has lived before i purchaced one. saying that, i have bought ants that were sent royal mail second class before. SECOND CLASS! lol

Yeh but some of the people on that site might be breeding as a proffesion as a job and its what they like to do.

I agree there is a lot of unwanted pets about, can say same for children too sadly.

I heard that its a good thing to allow a female dog to have a litter as it gives her a better temperament,or something.
