Sometimes. I'm on a local police commity, so give them a piece of my mind at times.

suspended#3
Cannot remember the last time i saw a copper in my area
#4
Could do better in mine I think
#5
there is police in my area nobody told me
#6
Individually, most coppers are very good, unfortunately the red tape/management get in the way.

Exactly:thumbsup:

At traffic duty overkill yes.
At catching druggy scumbags - could do better.
#9
Yes.

On a similar note I wish people would damn well realise what the police use their aircraft for, not for 'fun or games or pure annoyance', but to actually do a job.
#10
Nah, they ain't caught me yet!
#11
Are there police in my area?
lol
#12
the only police you see around here are sitting in speed camera vans. last time i had to phone them (my car was vandalised) it took them a week before they even rang me back to give me a crime number, apparently the copper who took my initial complaint went on leave and nobody else was allowed to deal with it.

And to collect the pizzas for night shift - they would go cold if theyhad to go and get them in a squad car surely??
#14
We have regular officers walking the street, nice and friendly plus no crime even with me between two busy pubs. Always feel safe and if called are there within minutes

;-) Dorset Police is a trek.... Winfrith Technology park?? Oh lawd... One bus a day and my dad won't take the car that far
#16
No simply because Dog Cop is on the police force in my local area :whistling:
#17
On a funny note: I was in a police station a few years back. One of the coppers came in to a staff room I was in and put some beers in the staff fridge - that's what they do with confiscated alcohol lol.
#18
They do too good a job at Bristol Airport.
#19
Yes and No.

Yes- well out in the sticks. But then most places inn Dorset outside of Bournemouth or Weymouth are!!

I think they launch the helicopters from Bournemouth Airport though. ou see them alll the time when you drive round the perimeter road.
#21
they gettin better for sure, more of a presence at night............dont like seeing the community support, they pretty useless around my area
#22
depends, response officers or bosses?
bosses - No, they spend too much time trying to appease government, instead of looking after the wishes of the demographic population.
response officers/front line - overworked, little time to do anything properly due to demands from bosses. I left the comfort of an air conditioned office with a secreatry etc. to arrest criminals and after 15 years i still get a buzz from locking up a paedo, burglar, thief, drug dealer etc.
Nice topic though
#23
Community SUpport are really trying hard in our area

They walk the streets and stop and talk to people... They have chatted to me in the park askign whether I have problems with the teenagers.

Hope I don't have reason to call on the police though - and find out how good they are!

Do the refuse collectors do a good job in your area?
Do the window cleaners do a good job in your area?
Do delivery drivers do a good job in your area?

Why police? have you had a bad experience?
#25

window cleaners don't count....you don't pay for them out of your taxes. Same goes for delivery drivers.

police are the people we rely on in times of trouble and in need help, its a little different than the rest. Police need to be there when it REALLY matter. life or death situations.

a little different from 'oh the bin men didnt arrive'
