Whatever your views on the cost effectiveness of Woolies.
When I was young (no quips) it was you always 'popped into' to get whatever.

The real sad thing is that this is just symbolic of where this country of ours really is.

It's a country that makes Nothing, has a large echelon of people who aspire to Nothing.
A country where a typical young person's aim in life is to get blitzed.

AN education system, once second to none, practices self deceipt.

A country that is probably printing money by the shed full to pay it's way.

A country where a typical politician cannot be trusted further than you can throw him/her.

Where bosses of companies milk the very funds that are the companies life blood - even when they make phenomenal losses. Take salaries that in a year are more than a normal persons lifetime's earnings and that's in not the private sector.

sorry

I'm off down to the river.

I have already been sold up it.

Oh - there's been a knock at the door.

(sounds of a scuffle)
(aaaargh)
I'd just like to withdraw what I said earlier about this wonderful country.

i agree-its ok if you live near all the other 'cheaper' shops everyone is quoting-but where i live we can't get to any other shops like it-no Wilkos, Asda or Argos -so it was somewhere we got alsorts of stuff.

Ours had a scrap dealer outside yesterday taking the shelves-so sad.......................

Business is business, they didn't manage themselves well, didn't hold a strong financial position to deal with the economic downturn with a culture of borrowing on credit.

Went into one of the stores today i know that they have dummy cases on display so they could get misplaced or whatever went to the entertainment desk i said "have you got any blu rays" snotty worker said "just whats out" i said "any in the drawer cant see any cases" she said " I said just whats out ! " i said "calm the **** down " and left.

Bad attitude and overpriced junk that i could get cheaper anywhere else has left this company to die and i'm not one bit sad. I have spent more in the past month since liquidation than i have in the past 8 years.

spent over £70 quid in the past month got some good stuff too. :)
