I wonder how much they will be charging for their next service pack.

You realise they're talking about mobile apps being full screen on a desktop PC?
banned#3
Traditional software such as iPhoto for example has always been "full screen" they're making a point that the App store for OS X will include the traditional mobile apps in full screen.

hypnoticstate there has always been a "mac tax" in mac hardware, that hasn't ever changed.

I think they are actually copying the microsft campaign....you know the one the windows 7 ones which featured the tag line...i made this...by mr ive been looking at naughties and hiding my history

They stuck that line to a lot of features that have actually been standard on a mac for a whilst...so they really should have said i made this...by steve jobs

Do you think this is a retaliation by apple?...would they really copy microsofts campaign....oh the irony works on so many levels

android . ubuntu (or other linux distro). open source software: Free and nearly always the best. We help each other to improve products.

apple have their fans and god love them it's fine. I feel sorry for the uninitiated. Apple marketing is fabulous....except the building in of obsolescence and poor quality handheld devices. Oh well buy the next version in 6months
You gotta love it

Some people really believe apple when they are told their iphone is water damaged.

I'm all for open source and free stuff (use a lot of it myself wherever i can) but i have to say Ubuntu is awful.

Totally agree! I was actively using 3G video calling in 2005!

Thats 5 years ago! And even now f**ktime is only over wifi, what a bunch of morons for selling it and what a bunch of **** toothless buffoons for buying it.

Learn.

Heres how my Linux is setup, using Samba I can share my files easily across the network (password protected). I have ssh enabled and use Trac and SVN to hold my documents.

My Routers IP changes sometimes if it's reset - so I have my PC run msmtp, grab my WAN IP and email it me.

In addition I have xRDP setup should I need to use my desktop, acessible from both Linux and Windows - and my N900.

Unlike Windows/Mac, only the ports needed are opened and my network is not insecure.

Mac, Windows, Linux et al each have their merits, their uses and their cons. Why can't the "fans" of each just get along with the others. I see no reason to spout bile over something ultimately so trivial and what is essentially down to personal choice.

The market needs healthy competition, technology demands it for progression so be thankful somebody spends a few hundred more on a Mac or an iPhone than perhaps you could find a cheaper alternative to.

Is this another thread where dcx moans about not being able to afford a Mac (in before he points out he can because he has a credit card X) ).

I've used all the operating systems, I'll stick with Mac because it does what I need to with the least fuss and in the prettiest way.

I bet if your Dad got a Mac you would tell everyone you had one.

I got a Credit card in August 2008 and used it once in September 2008 and haven't used it since.

So how do you pay for expensive items that you'd want payment protection for?

Clearly you don't have to pay for many 'big ticket' items.

I use my debit card for everything and I only buy from major retailers anyway.

Well that's just a silly thing to do.

But if you can't trust yourself with a credit card then I can kinda understand.

Thread spammed

Reasons

1)thread is pointless
2)op ranting to cause another silly argument because his mum wont buy him a Mac
3)don't like op
4)op needs to devote the time it took to posting this thread to finding a girlfriend

I agree, the OP has long since made his opinion on Apple known and continues to do so in nearly every (Apple) thread as well as creating threads like this which are there just to allow him to rant. I mean the whole point of this thread was shot down by post 5 but he got the reaction he wanted which was a bit of comfort knowing he isn't the only one who despises Apple. Must help him sleep...

Google - blowing minds since 1998.Seriously though, took you 5 years to find that, serious stalking fail.

5 years to find a thread you posted yesterday? I'm a member on the g3d forums, just noticed you spouted the same 'funnies' in both places then copied what other people said from there, to here.

I don't despise Apple (I have 4 iPods one of which is 6-7 years old), I despise Macs (and iPhones) also idiots who fall for the marketing.

What marketing was out of sorts here for you to vent spleen in their direction? That they mentioned all available apps in the new OS X app store would be full screen which so obviously refers to the mobile variants rather than normal OS X software which everyone knows runs full screen already. They were pre-empting the question that people would ask as to whether the mobile apps would run full screen on a desktop Mac.

I know a lot of people hate iphones, you being one of them. Yes, the new ones have a design flaw, fair enough, but it doesn't affect ALL the handsets, mine is fine, my girlfriends is fine, my next door neighbours is fine and so on.

Anyway, i got my dad a 3gs for his birthday. He was always skeptical about getting one, didn't know if he could get used to it, alot of money etc etc. Anyway, he is currently recovering in hospital following an operation to remove a small cancerous lump on his neck. He text me earlier saying how the iphone has been a a bit of a lifeline, allowing him to still use the internet take notes, use the radio, stay on top of emails, check the news and so on. I know those aren't exactly huge features, but for someone who usually stays away from technology, it has genuinely had an impact on his life. He said "you don't know what you're missing til you've got one", which I think is very true. Granted, some people use them and don't like them, fair enough. But others will just spring for the android OS just because they hate apple and refuse to like them

Now, I know you can do some of those features i mentioned on alot of phones, but I don't think any other phone has the range of apps that are available for the iphone. As far as I'm aware, apple were the first to properly introduce 'apps' and now look at the competitors trying to compete.

Yes, I do have an imac, and have been using macs for 10+ years. I also think they're overpriced, and yes the technology is usually behind a little (sometimes a lot!) but the way they run, ease of use and customer service is something that means I will always pay the extra.

I await a reply that shoots me down!

Or maybe some people prefer Android over iOS because they believe it's a better operating system?
(Which it is)

Well that's a given (that some people will actually prefer it). I've never properly used an android OS, only had a 20 second play with one. But I find my iphone so easy to use I see no reason to change, unless someone can convince me otherwise (I would actually change if I used one and thought it was better)
