Maybe try tesco? say you got it as a present but want to exchange for the newer remote? ive done it with games before.

it's usually to the store it was purchased from?
[mod]#3
Where was it bought? You need to check their returns policy.

Also might be worth finding out if the purchaser made them aware it was a gift as you might need to rely on Contracts (Rights Third Party) Act 1999.

There was an article posted yesterday on Bitter Wallet detailing how to return gifts etc.

That's not the problem. The problem is the OP wants to return it with no proof of purchase as they cannot obtain this.

Argos are usually really good with returns

Don't bother with hmv, I tried some sealed blurays that I acquired last year but they wouldn't give me anything without a reciept

Proof of purchase, not a receipt.

its it fully boxed unopened as you'll struggle to return it anywhere if packaging isnt as new.

I would imagine 99% of people on here can understand basic English. You must be in the 1% lol

Yeah they've never been opened/used.

Then your best bet would be to run the risk of upsetting your relative and get the receipt/proof of purchase.

just explain to the relative that they arent the right ones and you'd like to swap them over so need a receipt. its not like you are requesting a refund and you want the cash instead.
#17
Tell your relative it doesn't work and you need to go to the shop to swap it over for a new one and you need the reciept to do that. My only other suggestion would be to go into town and go round every shop trying to return it. Taking something back without a reciept usually relies on having a nice person on the returns counter.

WH Smith might be worth a go. Their returns policy is a bit less strict and if you get a slack employee - you'll be onto a winner

How are you going to return them?

You are aware that it would involve you leaving the house?

Op seem's to have a superiority complex, 's only matter of time before you're taken down a peg or two http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr112/denimcg/Smileys/th_Toothless.gif, or is it as I suspect, that you make your comments behind the relative safety of an internet screen & don't have the balls to say such things face-to-face. S'pose with a pretentious nick like that it's kind of expected. Ever considered xbc_dumbass ? - would be much more apt, or even more appropiately, walkin_on_thinice .....

Lets not forget OP claimed to have a party at his house last night but was still posting on here....either he was telling porkies or everyone told him how much they hated him after a few drinks and he wet himself and ran back to his little room.

Alternatively a girl was present and he panicked

I don't know which one to go for?

I returned a scalesletric yesterday to argos with no reciept, although it did have a big argos sticker on it.
