Hey guys,

My Laptop (HP dv9000 series) has a flaky display:

Basically, it will only show the top 1/3 of the screen, a "wiggle" will sometimes fix this, but it's becoming worse.

Any ideas how to fix this (and if I can fix this myself!)

Rep for useful help!

when i cracked my screen i was quoted £750 from sony to have it fixed,
i picked up a new lcd from ebay and fitted it myself for £80. It was way easier than i thought it would be.

Go down to Comet and start smashing everything until they give you a refund.

Hi you say when you wiggle it its ok, sounds like a loose cable or some laptops have a vga ad on card, turn laptop upside down and open the doors underneath make sure any cards are inserted properly other than that try and find someone you know to look at it. Sounds like a £20ish fix if you take it to someone you don’t know I guarantee they will rip you off
Good luck

Not quite....... can't find the corresponding connector on the motherboard which I reckon is loose, dont want to take the thing to bits in case I can't put it back together again!!!
