Just recieved a call from Indian sounding lady.
Started by asking me to confirm my name which I never do as the opening stance of a call.
Then she went on to say she was from BT Broadband and was my internet all ok.
I challenged her without providing any information as to who I was, or whether I even had broadband to provide some evidence that she was legit. At which point she ended the call.
1471 showed her as calling from 08432 764071

whocallsme suggested that this company has done this before. Probably one of the regular scams to get the unwary to download dodgy software or provide details that will compromise their internet security.

Take care.

If you do have BT Broadband call them and see if they called you. If you don't then I don't know apart from it probably being some kind of fraud scheme.

I've just had a dodgy call this morning too . I now treat every caller as a scam artist if I dont know them . It's getting beyond a joke now the amount of calls I get from people wanting to sell me something or put me on another tarrif . I'm just downright rude to them now .

Me too! They get all uppity when I ask them to prove who they are, as they called me so must know who I am. When my bank were trying to contact me for a vaguely legitimate reason she found it very amusing! I insisted though, so she ended up writing to me!

I've recently written a snotty letter to BT as they keep phoning me (despite asking, then telling and then shouting at them not too), plus I get carp through the post from them, and I've told them all details have been handed to my solicitor as I'm sueing them for harrassment - not heard/had a thing since.
If you do get anything through post, cover it in expletives and send back in the pre paid envelope - even better empty the cat litter tray into it lol
