Dodgy Phone Calls

OK...I have a mobile number which is hardly used(a company phone). The only people who have it are people I work with (and know they would not pass it out to anyone). Its more of an emergency phone, as we can be lone workers at times.

Today, I have had 3 calls from someone, within minutes of each other. I was driving at the time so could not answer. On arrival home. I called from my landline, witholding my home number. I asked politely who called and explained he was calling a company number, and he shouted abuse at me and hung up. I called again (still witholding) and he shouted more abuse, and then said it was my money I was wasting and hung up again.

I have since had another 2 missed calls from him on the mobile! anyone have any ideas on how to deal with this? Have now put the mobile on silent, but cannot switch off as need for work!

:giggle::giggle:

Seriously, how irritating! Maybe if you answer next time they call and try to explain for a final time and if no luck answer the second time it goes and don't hang up so it will be costing them money or blow a whistle down the phone or something?

It's possible one of the girls from your workplace has your number on their phone and their other half has got the wrong end of the stick. It happens.
Can you not block the number on your phone?
#11
youve been nice to him now when he calls again talk in a aggresive tone and talk to him in a manner that he will never call u again. cause i know how i would talk to such an ass hole.

Just get your most professional-sounding friend to record a message on your answer phone saying:

"Hello, thank you for calling this mobile phone. Due to recent calls made to this number, all incoming calls are being screened and investivated by and . Please leave a message and you will be contacted soon."

Everyone has been terribly tactful so far and only alluded to the core issue. I will come straight out and say it: If you weren't having an affair with Tracey Mansfield from Accounts then you wouldn't be in this stew. Paul Mansfield has told me that he intends to have your guts for garters (or something to that effect) and that he will be knocking on your door - no, kicking it in! - in approximately 20 minutes. If I were you, I'd go to pub and turn off your mobile.

Ok another option for you to consider....
Register his mobile number with many (and I mean many :whistling:) dodgy sites such as free health insurance, laser eye treatment, mobile text chat, football results sites etc so the pratt gets inundated with spammed calls himself.

Assuming you've done nothing to this guy I think he'll be too busy trying to change his own mobile number to worry about hassling you anymore!.
Incidentally AXXA Free Medical Insurance is a great one as the son's of bee hatches have been hounding me day in day out for the past 3 weeks! :x

Good idea! I have just googled my number, and it does not come up anywhere! so now wondering whether its a random caller - they just punched any number into the phone...but why get abusive? why not just say wrong number?

Just reported the number to them. From my records, I have never called the number from my mobile! They number calling me is a Virgin mobile, and they cannot block it.
