Does anyone else feel awkward in Apple Stores?

Hey all, I was in the Apple Store today and the last two times I have been there, I find the 'Geniuses' make you feel very awkward. I was in the Cardiff store today and just found them to be rude.

I don't own a Mac but I have iPhone's iPad's etc. It's almost like they don't think I am worthy of their product. . . . .

Any thoughts.

If you get cornered, just ask them about their GF's.

Yes they are all rude, because they think they are woking as a Genius in a Genius Bar...apparently they are the one who authorise any repairs on the spot.

Not really but then I've spent 100s of thousands (not my money) on their products so I expect to be treated like royalty.

That's when you are going to buy or stay within warranty

I have found that most in the stores don't really have a clue when you throw a little curveball their way. Other than regurgitating the tosh Apple have in their press releases most have little to no idea what they are selling. Even still I own a few Apple products.

Trust me, a rat is worth of a mac!

Most of the people at the Apple Store in Norwich are great however some of them are just downright rude.

Some of them are really friendly and eager to help and some think they are high and mighty and treat the customers like dirt.

I guess it is the same everywhere though!

They know nothing about their products.

Had a problem with my iphone whilst runnin 3.1.3, 'genius' upgraded it to os4. Told him I would downgrade it to 3.1.3 again when I get home and he told me that I couldn't do that as it wasn't physically possible. oO

I feel apple shops are always massively over-staffed. They may always be busy but I bet only 1 out of every 50 visitors buys something.

True, the majority of people in the stores are only there to play with the merchandise!

Yes. I also think it is overstaffed. Funny thing is when I asked for help, every member said, no, I am busy. . .

I can't praise the staff at the Bath Mac store highly enough, I had an issue and initially got through to the most unhelpful man at the Southampton Mac store so I phoned the Bath Mac store instead and the chap on the phone did everything he could to help me and so did the manager.
I was booked in for an appointment and amazingly when I walked in and said 'I have an appointment' the member of staff said 'oh hi, you must be xxxx' even though he wasn't the man I was booked to see, I can't believe he knew who I was! Plus the manager I spoke to on the phone came by and said Hi and checked everything was going well. Incredible service and an issue Southampton store wouldn't deal with the staff at the Bath store made problem-free. Excellent.
