Hate cucumbers but love Gherkins

On burgers, in sandwiches, by themselves, lurve that taste.

Then again, I love pickled eggs by the jarful, same with onions, cornichons, (OK small gherkins), mixed pickled veg . . . .

Guess I'm addicted to pickles.

Anyone for Monster Munch, (Pickled Onion of course)!

Which reminds me, Lidl do something call 'meat salat' or something that's made of gherkins, mayo and pork luncheon meat. Definitely an 'acquired' taste.

Yep, I like them too. I think it is the vinegar though!

:whistling: Yuck, anything in vinegar only tastes of vinegar.

Now if gerkins were in oil, like olives...I might be interested :-D

Try kosher ones then, hardly any vinegar and loads of dill. Much sweeter and less acidic than cornichons ;-)

I grew up hating beetroot.....until I discovered in my mid 20's that it does not have to come in vinegar. Buy the vacum packs, love it. No comparison
