When you open applications ie google and start typing it brings up underneath all your previous search options, how do i get rid of this? I have done-start-programs-accessories-systems tools-disk cleanup and deleted history and cookies but still get it?

To add rep ... just click on the pic of the scales to the left next to the persons avatar & leave a short note (it can be anon' or type your username if you want them to know who it's from) :) then click the box 'add to reputation' that's it!

auto complete is nothing to do with history it just auto completes forms with a prompt

i meant form history which is what you are advising to turn off. The OP just wants to delete current entries which is done by clearing private data in firefox.

When you made your first google search, it asked you if you would like to save previous searched criteria. You said yes, like someone up there ^^^ said use ccleaner, however it will only clear the saved searches you have at the moment rather than the future searches you make. If it's such a big problem for you I recommend running ccleaner, deleting cookies and then reinstalling your web browser.
