you want to make you picture bigger i.e. increase the res.

do you have photoshop? if so go into it, open photo, go to...edit - image size - then put a larger number in the DPI box, 300 or something

Download the Powertoys image resizer on the Microsoft site, will try to find the link...

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Look for the link down the right hand side, great utility and it shows up on the list when you right click on any image saved on your PC.

Sorry, just realised you want to make them bigger, not smaller, DOH!

I use IRFAN VIEW you can do it to your own measurements. Just google it, its free to download

irfanview is free and simple to use, it also gets my recommendation.

Open the picture in the application and choose the image menu and then resize/resample (or just press Ctrl+R), you can then enter new dimensions or just the percentage scale to easily scale the picture up.

The problem with doing this is that you're probably going to find the quality is poor, camera phone pictures are poor quality anyway so upsampling them makes them even worse.

... or you could use an online image resizer like resize2mail without having to download anything.

That site only downsamples, the thread creator is needing to upsample the pictures.

If you click 'on your own', it allows you to resize whichever way you want.

Not when I click the link, it limits the maximum dimensions you can set.

Additionally there is no control over the resample process which given the source image is likely to be difficult to upsample may well also be an issue.

There are limits but you are able to increase the size and the limits are pretty big! As for the quality, as you've said previously, the quality is likely to be pretty poor anyway given that the photo is likely to be inferior as it's from a camera phone and it's already been deemed too small by photo box. If the OP wants to do this whole process in secret, resize2mail is an alternative to downloading a programme which her bf might be likely to spot.
