sounds dumb but im struggling to figure out how to get the tube away from the main body of the hoover. the only way i seem to be able to do it is to unclip the hose and pull the solid tube with the red thing on the end as far out as itl go and the it sort of pulls off and clicks. surely i dont have to do that every time? i bought it as an ex display model and it didnt come with a manual and I cant seem to find one online, all the ones iv tried downloading have just pages and pages of dots, dashes and brackets etc

We've got a dyson and that sounds about right! It's to keep it compact when you're not using it!

yes i know it sounds rediculous, thanks for your helpful answer
its just iv had dysons before and they just unclip, theres a button u press and it just comes away, this one has no button, and u shouldnt have to do what im doing to get it away, its awkward, should be easy

yes i realise it fits together to keep it compact, but i shouldnt hav to pull all the other parts out just to unclip the handle/hose part away, all my other dysons have never been like that, they have a button at the front

I'm not sure what model you're on about, but we've got both an upright and one of those mini floor ones (what are they called)?! Anyway, we just press a button so maybe you've got a different type!

it seems, unless anyone else can tell different that the only way to do it is to pull out the metal tube, wierd way of doing it, but there u go

£2-66 here http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/parts.asp?accessory=ACC-DC25USERGUIDE&product=DC25-ALLFLOORS but £2 postage

it also says "Quick-draw Telescope Reach wand for cleaning stairs and other high-reach areas
When you want to clean awkward-to-reach spots like stairs and ceilings, you can use the quick-release wand on your DC25 All Floors. It extends by 16ft quickly and easily, with no awkward components to assemble. You can also attach tools and accessories, extending your cleaning abilities even further
." so should just unclip

If its the wand you want off the main hoover, you have to open the top (the red bit) pull out the tube straigt up and it comes straight off the main hoover. You have to do it in a quick movement otherwise it just stays stuck to the main hoover. Its hard to describe but just try it, it might make sense once you've had a go.

As KazzyD said, if you lift the grey flap up, take hold of the red bit and lift upwards. When that has reached its maximum the whole wand will then come away from the hoover base.

I had the exact same problem with mine......except I had insructions!! :?

Yer, little flap up, pull the red ended thing all the way up until it snaps in place, and I think there is another button down by the on button you press, and the whole thing comes up then.
