I had one of those little gorilla pods but the one I had wasn't that good. It was more to do with the leg size of it. I think they come with 2 sizes though so the bigger one might be better. I also got another that has a Clamp on it which can screw on to things and it is quite good. It does have little pop out legs as well but I wouldn't trust them with an s1000 unless you are very careful as I walked away thinking mine was secure then it fell

is it the gorilla pod ones? if so what is it you want to achieve from it?... because a tripod will be better just not as portable. the gorilla pod ISNT very suitable for front heavy cameras as the camera tends to tilt forward.

seen them online on ebay for about 6-10£ but they come in 3 sizes so wasnt sure... I bought a cheap poundland tripod n it just tips forward all the time its useless.. im travelling round europe in the summer so thought it would be good and easily transportable but dont want my camera tipin over off a bridge or somethin! haha

your best bet is getting a sturdy tripod. i know theyre not as quick and easy or as portable though. my husband says if your going to use it on a brigde then velcro it to something stable as being on a bridge is normally windy. sorry couldnt be helpful.
