Does anyone play the Irish Lottery?

Does anyone on here play the Irish Lottery? What's your experience of it? Me and Mrs Taksim are thinking of giving it a go. Just looking for advice from other members of how to play etc.

I understand I can buy a ticket for it in an English bookmakers shop but can I play it online aswell? Also how much are the tickets?

Just watched this Wednesday's draw on RTE Player online and there seems to be 3 draws (two smaller draws and one main draw) so looks a bit similar to ours I suppose although I understand the smaller prizes have bigger pay outs right?

All advice will be greatly appreciated.

I usually do a bet in the bookies for the Irish lotto
for some reason it's illegal to bet on the English one.

55/1 to pick 2 numbers
500/1 to pick 3

some bookies give you 600-1 on the three numbers

There's a new £10,000,000 Irish State Lottery starting soon.

The winner gets £10 a year for a million years..

isn't the irish lottery the one where you win the jackpot for no numbers and nothing for six?

So have I got this right:

1) You can pick upto 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 numbers....but you can't pick 6 like on the English Lottery?

2) You have to match ALL the numbers you pick? Eg: If I pick 5 numbers and only 3 or 4 of those numbers are drawn you don't win anything?

3) You can choose to play a 6 number or 7 number draw. Basically if you choose to play a 6 number draw then the bonus ball doesn't count right?

4) So if you pick 4 numbers and play a 7 number draw you win the same prize regardless of whether you get all 4 regular numbers or 3 regular numbers and the bonus ball?

Haha I remember our next door neighbour getting his drive tarred by some Irish cowboy labourers years ago. They made a right mess of it. They got half way up the drive and ran out of these little white pebbles they were mixing into the tar but just carried on without them. Half the drive ended up having the white pebbles and the other half didn't. Looked proper odd but he thought it was marvelous because he got it on the cheap so he did so he did! :-D

What's the difference between the main draw and the 2nd and 3rd draws?

i have been doing the irish lottery through betfred normally do pick 3 numbers for 600/1 for 6 numbers and half that for seven numbers ie the bonus ball.Have won a couple of times. They do say try and pick 2 numbers together ie 8 and 9 and then 1 other number.Good luck.

Yeah was looking at Betfred and a few of the other bookies sites before. Most of them do £15 / £20 Quidco / TopCashBack and credits for joining so might do the rounds!
