I have 3 registration plates and need more information about the vehicles in terms of spec, warranty remaining and servicing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :)

If you have take the key into a BMW garage, the computers can get all this from it? They'll probably be able to do the same from the reg number too.

Actually I have not bought the car yet, I have shortlisted it to 3 different ones but want to know more about each of them to make the final decision.

You need the VIN number of each car and then contact BMW customer services. They can tell you what spec the car came with and how many visits to the dealer it has had.

Are they off the BMW approved used site or other private/dealers?

private sellers (not BMW approved cars, which is why I need an approved-cars peace of mind ! :) )

You could do an hpi check. Yes, this costs money - about a fiver for one or tenner for 3 I think, but it gives you the details you want, whether it has any outstanding finance and all the important stuff like if it's been stolen etc.

I'm sure that it's possible to phone up your local BMW dealer and ask them armed with just the number plate. Just explain to them that you're thinking about buying one and need to check them out a bit further. It doesn't hurt to ask, all they can say is that they can't do it.

Local BMW dealer, taken me about two weeks to get the deal I wanted.

Be a good idea to post a thread on e90post to get some ideas.
