Ok guys i appreciate this is going to be a hard one to clarify without actually seeing him, and i will be taking him to the doctors tomorrow.

last week he had cold like symptoms thought as normal the usual snuffles and sent him to school, then thursday earache came and he suffered with it over the weekend so took him to the docs and he said he had severe ear infection, then last night i noticed a spot by his collar bone but when looking closer it was a blister, tonight he has told me he is itchy and he has scratched the blister off his collar bone (owch) when i checked the rest of his body he has 5 or 6 when i showed his dad the one on his side we literally watched one evolve. starts off red then gets a blister in the centre.

i have done the nhs direct and other sites but they look like he should be covered in them now if it is chicken pox but he only has 6 or so.

has anyone else had this with there child, as i said previously i will take him to the docs in the morning but i have 10 hours before the docs open and i will freak myself out if i keep looking on google lol.

Have you given him a bath?

My dd had pretty much same symptoms, and same as your ds only had 6/7 spots - until she had her bath and them as you say I literally watched them appear and change :o

Having said that my friends ds only had it very mildly, hardly any spots at all

Hope he's feeling better soon

it said chicken pox and then gave me options to view chicken pox in children and as i say they were covered in the spots, had to do it over internet as nhs telephone not taking non emergency calls???? and the question was does he have blister fluid filled spots so i answered yes but as i say he only has a few

sounds like it to me, they seem to be more common from around this time of year too so they say. My daughter had them very mild only maximum 20 on her body, but my baby had them bad. Varies from child to child.

Yes probably, chicken pox look like blisters. Some children only get a few, but he may get more tomorrow. He really doesn't need to go to the doctors for chicken pox, he may infect babies or elderly people stay at home. Cut his nails short, get aqueous cream with added calamine already in, fill a stocking/tight foot with oats and run a not too warm bath if the itching gets too bad. Keep him hydrated and cool with fruit ice lollies and lots of water and he will be fine.
