Does the Slendertone system abs work?

Hey all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone has used the Slendertone system, and whether they thought it worked/is worth the money?
I'm getting married next year and want to tone up my belly at very least before the big day (it's a beach wedding) I'm watching my calories atm, and trying to get into a regular exercise routine, but I'm desperate to try anything tbh.
Do you guys think it is worth the £100? Part of me thinks good old fashioned exercise would be best, but then I'd also like to see some improvements quicker, as I know this will give me the boost to actually exercise more.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
:)

^^ lol at above

The abs system will ONLY tone the muscles, it doesn't do anything for removing any excess fat. Errrm, not that I'm saying that you have any :D

It works by sending electrical signals into your muscles forcing them to work as though they are doing crunches/sit-ups etc. This will give you better muscle definition but doesn't work the body hard enough to burn fat off - only real exercise can do that (simple calculation - to reduce weight burn more calories than you eat. That can be by reducing intake or increasing the amount of exercise you do).

as above, it'll tone you but only regular exercise will burn off any excess fat. 1lb of excess fat contains about 3500 calories, so say your daily intake is currently 1800 calories, and you cut it to 1300, you should lose 1lb a week (500 calories a day less = 3500 calorie a week defecit.)
If you can work out on top of this, you should be onto a winner :)
There are tools online to help you work out your resting metabolic rate, which in turn will give you an idea of how many calories you need per day.

I nearly killed myself on these once. I turned the dial up the wrong way round and gave me a zap like they do in A&E. They got sent back.
