Dolce Gusto or Senseo? We're after a new coffee machine

Well our Tassimo has more or less given up the ghost after 4 1/2 years and we're wanting to get a new different coffee machine that uses pods.
I know there has been threads before about the machines but wondering if there are any new machines out apart from the Dolce Gusto or senseo that people could recommend.

Which is better out the two mentioned? Can the Dolce Gusto be customised like the Senseo can with cheaper pods and filter coffee (coffeeduck).

We're after a good machine but with cheap pods, can anyone give advice as to which is best to go with?

Thank you!

Haven't tried the Dolce Gusto but my sister has the Senseo so we get that every time we visit. I quite like it but know the pods are bit expensive. You can buy them online somewhere really cheap in bulk though but I've forgotten where (I googled it for her a while ago)

If you can afford it, go for a Nespresso. Only downside is that you have to buy your coffee online as it is made for you per order.

This is my personal preference as I am not a fan of powdered coffee and milk.

I'm not a coffee drinker but my partner is and I bought her a nespresso machine and she says it is as good as any coffee you get from high end coffee houses.

Exactly. The quality is REALLY good and they have a superb range.

We have a Dolce Gusto and it makes very nice coffee, we bought a bulk of mixed capsules on ebay as well so they worked out cheaper and means we got to try everything.

Thanks for the comments.
We had noticed the nespresso machine and wondered if it was any good so thanks for the info

I know senseo are cheaper for the pods than tassimo (as they've gone up in price), but the dolce gusto looks better...will check each makers website and using your comments pick the best option. Thank you.

Have you heard of Nexpod , bit of info here also ?
You can use your own type of coffee in these pods.

Dualit do alternative pods or the nespresso machines. 60 pods for £11.99 in Costco. No VAT on them either.

If you are prepared to look hard enough you can pick up a Nespresso Essenza machine in Comet for £55.99. If you register online and scan them a copy of your purchase receipt they'll credit your account with £40 - should get you around 100 pods. There are 16 pods in the box when you buy it too.
