Ok , lately been watching a bit of jeremy kyle show haha sad i know, and it always seems to be full of non working idiots whining about their violent partners and not knowing who the dad is of their baby etc.

Now i dont know about you but im a bit p*ssed off at about 150 quid a week of my hard earned (ha) wages going on tax when it is getting used to fund these dole scroungers!!!

What i reckon is that dole money should be paid for 1 year only, that gives time for people to find a job surely, and even during that year why cant these people be given jobs to do to earn the dole money like cleaning estates up etc, doing errands for elderly people etc.

Too many long term dole scroungers now in this country imo.

Doing anyone elses nut in or are we all happy to fund them while they do nowt?

I wonder if this thread will still be here when I get back from work?

The government make it an attractive offer to be honest.
Needs tightening up on how much, how easy it is to get etc
#4
it seems the less you pay into the system the more you get, kungfu for prime minister you would get my vote

The Jeremy kyle show is a disgrace.

Who wants to know about their problems? as if we aint got our own problems to deal with!

p***es me off watching that tw** shouting and blaring at the scroungers on his show thinking like he knows it all.

Wheres the Humility?

Yep gotta agree there like, what could make it UN-attractive is as i said.....give them tasks to do to earn the dole money, suddenly getting a job might seem like a better idea then!

Agree totally...sick of these people...don't have a problem with people on the dole whatsoever...I was too after uni for 2 months, but hate the people that go on it and don't even try for jobs....
#8
make them fight on daytime tv then it would cut down on illegal dog/cock fights surley it would give them a purpose in life
#9
System was designed to fulfil a purpose....to aid those most in need.
These days too many folk see it as a lifestyle option.

Benefit payments should be reduced for all bar the truly needy/those physically incapable of work etc and minimum wage drastically increased.

BTW.......What happened to dole being stopped if folk didn't attend interviews/accept job offers.

If folk are physically capable of working they should get up off their lazy scrounging butts and pay their way.

Yeah thats what im saying man, it should be there as an emergency and a crutch for people to fall back on in extreme times til they can get a job sorted, NOT as a friggin lifestyle!

You should only be able to claim from money you've paid in tax, those that never work shouldnt be entitled to it.
Saying that every other person round my area is an immigrant with three kids & none of them seem to work, I think despite what the government says thats were all our money is going.
My next door neighbour cant speak English doesnt work yet drives a BMW!!!!
I wish you hadnt started this thread as my blood is boiling as I write this :viking:

Well the thread is now "Expired", I am taking bets as to when it is either "Locked" or removed.

Already "Immigrants" have been brought into the equation.

The benefit system is a great thing, Im 22 and have been working since leaving school, however there have been moments in my life where Ive left a job before finding a job and the JSA has saved my **** for a few months.

I do agree that some people are just happy sitting on the dole and not bothering looking for a job. Now a days some peoples parents have never worked and always been on the dole, so its just normal behaviour for them.

I strongly agree with the point that you should be made to work for your dole money, If I was claiming benefits I wouldnt mind sweeping the street, cleaning goverment buildings, helping out charitys, etc.... You should be made to work for the money and not just have it given on a platter, I bet there would be a lot less people on the dole.

Another thing that annoys me is kids having kids so that they get more benefits!

Anyone agreeing has got to vote tory next election, theyve got some good ideas for dole scroungers including stopping long term payment of it.

Thing is though, what's the solution? It's good and well saying "Yes! Give them the dole for a year, and if they cba by then, balls to them", but what happens after we stop giving them dole money? They've got to live somehow, and, much though my inner-Nazi would love to line them up and execute them all (or use them for medical experiments, may as well get some use out of them afterall), that annoying conscience thing tells me that it would be kind-of bad to. All this would produce is a lot more criminals. A lot more muggings, and break-ins. A bad thing.

Personally, I think that my inner-Nazi would be sufficiently satisfied with the reintroduction of labour camps. I mean, not quite that far, but how about this - scrap the dole, instead, introduce government jobs. Make people work 10 hours a week maximum at factories that are available to hire for any company. Subsidise it all out of what would be JSA, and the UK could have Chinese-style factories for outsourced labour, at rental prices similar to those of the far east. Or force people to be street cleaners. Or something. Or anything. Recyclers, binmen, all sorts. The government needs to stop giving money away for nothing, as all they're doing with the JSA is letting people live a tolerably decent life as parasites.

Hold on not everyone on benefits is a scrounger, I would love to be able to go out and work but cant for health reasons - Fibromyalgia which means I can be fine one day then the next suffer chronic pain, so even if i got a job I would be unable to sustain it. The extent of the pain is that I need painkillers which are not far down the line from morphine (codeine phosphate). Up until the point I started suffering this condition I used to work hard (sometimes putting in 70-80 hour weeks). What makes the condition worse is it gets you down especially when people label you as scroungers without knowing a thing. Its not just the pain though it affects memory too and you forget what you are doing. It may seem funny to outsiders but things I have done include putting pots in the washing machine, an electric kettle on a gas hob (and lighting it), constantly leaving the cooker on etc.

Think before you speak.

But then people like you probably class people in my situation as too lazy to even sign on!

Disagree....

they may have good ideas but they wont be implemented...Labour had good ideas too before they got in...

Can't trust any of the major parties as they have such a history of lying

Someone expired it before they rushed out to their car to go sign on on time I suppose

At least now it can't be spammed :).

I can't help but think though that all the money saved from scrapping the dole in part or whole would just end up being used by MPs to buy new kitchens etc.

Are you using the word "dole" to cover all state benefits, as those with babies would be on income support not dole? Whilst on the dole you need to be able to work, and looking for work. I am on IS and struugle through on the money i get and having more children certainly wouldnt help me be financially better off. Iwent for me review 3 months ago and we played around with some figures to show how much better off i would be, and yes you guessed it, i would be worse off than i am now, and that was taking into account no childcare charges and no travel expenses to work and relying on my ex to carry on paying maintenance etc, so how the hell am i supposed to get out of this trap?

You know, I'm struggling to think of a post I've read of yours recently where you haven't been, in some way, clinging to authority. This thread, for example, twice harping on about expiring the thread, yesterday, a copy & paste of the rep rules, with added red font to make it look even more serious, and then there was a another a couple of days ago where I'm fairly sure you even went as far as to use "IT'S MAKING A MOCKERY OF THE SYSTEM", and possibly other tabloid newspaper cliches. It makes of an interesting pattern.

Well put sass it seems some people see it all in black and white either you work or you are too lazy too with nothing inbetween, from the jist of it they seem to be classing all benefits for people out of work as dole (which incidentally no longer exists) when claiming what is now known as jobseekers allowance you have to show proof of what you have been doing in attempts to seek employment, if you dont they are very quick at stopping your payments.

Where's my free money? I work hard and contribute to society, oh hold on sorry, got that wrong I should not work and do nothing then you get rewarded.........................

Take a drop and struggle it out, my sister has just done that, 3 kids and is now worse off for going to work but thats how you have to start off!!! You will earn more as you progress by gaining experience and getting better positions/jobs! Have to start somewhere!!!

Personally I'm only on about the dole/jobseekers.....and only the people who have no intention of working, not those looking or that can't etc...

Its there for a reason but way too many people abuse it....including some of my mates which winds me up

And what job do you think is going to give me all the school holidays off, time off when my sons hospital appointments come through 4 times per year, give me time off when he is poorly (not often but it happens) or shall i just do what his father did and move on with my life without him? Yes their are school jobs but trying to actually get one is a different thing altogether, put him inot childcare so i can work before and after school hours and pay and drop my already ow income by another 30%? If you have a better suggestion im all ears:thumbsup:

Lol nah, i was talking to a lad recently and he said when he goes in for the jobseeker interview thing he plucks 5 phone numbers out of the yellow pages ad simply says he has rang and asked if they have any vacancies!

Actually have to slightly disagree there....my mate hasn't turned up to interviews etc and he hasn't had his stopped....i thought they were clamping down on this but he seems to get away with it

I think there should be strictor control on who gets benefits.
