I recently purchased a nice new Panasonic DMC-FZ8 camera and returned the warranty slip as usual.
As expected, I got the standard letter from D&G offering the extended warranty, the letter clearly stated “An extra 4 years peace of mind is available to you for just £5.40 a month for 10 months by Direct Debit, or £54.00 otherwise”. Which I thought to be a good deal. So i went on the website only to see that they wanted £84 for the 4 year cover or £54 for only two years.
I rang them to question this and all the guy on the phone said was "the information in the letter is incorrect". Great.
The Payment/Direct Debit form enclosed only gave an option to pay the £54 and didn’t mention time periods.
Basically, if I hadn't looked online, I would have paid the £54 and only got half the cover I wanted!
If you get offered any cover by D&G, make sure you check online first to make sure the letter is correct!
I've written to them to complain so I shall post back with what their response is!
