Anyone been to the Dominican in Sept (later end of the month)?

Apparently it's still hurricane season, but just wanted to see if anyone has had experience at this time of the year.

We're off there from the 22nd for a week, just want to make sure I don't need to hold on for dear life when we get there.

TIA :)

Yes, I went during hurricane season about 5-6 years ago. I was a brilliant holiday, basically we had 3 or 4 storms during the two weeks. It basically just lashed down for a few hours each time.

If you were on the beach you could tell when one was coming as the locals all packed up and headed home. You could see the hurricanes out at sea but very few came inshore.

I wouldn't think twice about going back.

Me, my husband and 2yr old went last September for 2 weeks to Playa Dorada and the weather was brilliant! Some afternoons it got a bit breezy by the beach but nothing to stop you sunbathing.
we went to St Lucia 6 years ago for our honeymoon in June and 2 tropical storm warnings while there but nothing in Dominican last year.
Have a great time wish it was me going back there is so beautiful! Make sure you go see the dolphins and swim next to the white Tigers at ocean World its brilliant!
