Double glazed window won't open.

One of my windows won't open. The handle turns but it's like those slidey things aren't moving.
The thing is, I've removed the handle but how do you open the window to see what needs doing, or to change it?

sounds like the locking mechanism has gone. This has just happened to me with my patio door. The door is more than 10 years old so nowhere stocks the mechanism for it anymore. Got to buy a new patio door now

Ha Ha!! Result! Just dug out the contract and they're still covered under the 10 year warranty untill Feb 2012. They're coming out next week.

I'd get the handle back on asap then and deny ever touching it. :{

Sometimes the rod inside can stick, you can usually free it with a couple of hard smacks to the window frame near the top corner (on the frame, not the glass!)

Yeah, suppose we've been a little lucky. Used Safestyle in 2002. They were in and out in a day. We've had only a couple of minor issues like this but they've always come out and fixed it with no quibbles.
