DPD delivery company - anybody had hassle???

What an absolute shambles of a company. They were supposed to deliver on Friday but I didn't see anyone. Then today get told I'd definitely get it and as I needed to sign for it, had to take the afternoon off work. Only for them to put on their tracking thing that "Location not found". Stayed here for 15 yrs and nobody had any problems before. Just wondered if anyone else had any experience of them. Don't know whether or not to get folks to sit here all day tomorrow now. If only someone there knew how to operate a phone so they could get some directions!! I'm thinking that they just couldn't be bothered coming out of their way to come here and that was there way of getting round it.

yes - they are appalling - and if you have a problem then don't bother trying to get in touch with them cause they make it as difficult as possible - got so fed up in the end I googled our local depot which was a feat in itself and even then they pretty much wanted to pass the buck by saying that they dont usually talk to the receiving customer they only talk to the sending customer

Tried finding my local depot as I thought that would be so much easier but didn't have any success. Sent them a couple of emails - none of which they have even acknowledged. God knows how they're going to find me cos nobody's bothered to check for directions!!

Thats not the normal service!

Your area must be getting covered buy a agency or courier driver or a spaz!!

I work for them and this happens sometimes but quite rare.

If the parcel has been UTL'd its normally held in the depot next day so you will have to call early if you want it delivered tuesday.

Google "DPD Depot List" and you will find driect number and expain whats happened and you should be offered a free upgrade. The people you talk to at the depot can not do everything that customer services can do!!

Or speak to sender and get a change of address to your work address!

Would be good to hear if anybody got any good comment's about DPD.. lol

The phone number listed for the Aberdeen depot is not recognised. You wouldn't happen to know what it is do you

I've found DPD great in a way...

Parcel coming to us showed up undelivered, card left..

Problem was.. No card left, so must of delivered it to the wrong address... Rang the depot, who rung the driver and sent him back to the house the same day, which i thought was cracking service.. DHL would never do that..

DPD - Deliberate Parcel Deception
This Aberdeen branch are clearly cowboys as seen by the problems of others above etc.

Got an email saying delivery would be between 1935 & 2035
Got another email BEFORE the delivery time at 1834 stating "no one available to sign".........absolute crap, I was working on my driveway from 5pm to 9:30pm and not a single vehicle passed.
finally got a number for Aberdeen.

I've also had problems with this lousy company. They are uncontactable by telephone in that you are placed into a wholly automated system that does not include someone to actually talk to. They don't respond to emails, and they don't have an email address through which they can be contacted in the event of problems. Nor do they have any way of making complaints or dealing with issues outside of the narrow delivery options they offer.

They also seem to think that people will pay twice to have their parcel delivery 'upgraded' for a redelivery. This is a disgusting practice which should be made illegal. DPD have been paid to deliver and that is what they should be made to do. Moreover it should be at a time when the customer is at home and for most working people that is in the evenings. I really resent paying for delivery and then being informed by shitbag outfits like DPD that their 'local' depot is 40 miles away.

This is just one of a new breed of delivery company which couldn't give a toss about its customers, particularly the ones to whom it delivers. Well I have no intention of keeping quiet about how bad this company is.

Appalling service Waiting delivery of a mobile, supposed to be delivered yesterday and stayed in all day as requested, NOT delivered. Rang the aberdeen depot at 6.20 p.m. last night to be told by an answer machine that the office shuts at 6.30 p.m. !!! All it says for the tracking information is ARRIVED AT DEPOT. Have reported them to 3 mobile. Surprised they are still in business actually ...
Need some decent competition I think
#9
Lol @ all the new members signing up to complain about couriers and then disappear.
#10
mmm joke my was delivered today to someone else, somewhere else. Who pays hope its not me!
#11
not had an issue with them, crack of dawn deliveries unlike YODEL who are a joke.
#12
They put a yellow card through the door of my block of flats without bothering to fill in the name or flat number it was meant for, when I called I was told that it would be a security issue to do so. The 'customer service' agent on the end of the phone couldn't answer why the box was on the card in the first place, then. He also refused to put me through to anybody superior to him, as there were no managers there at all, apparently. Liar.
#13
Terrible service. Tracking system is useless and they make up when the delivery made not when it actually was.
#14
Every company has a few bad egg's.

Google your local depots phone number, ask to speak to the manager if you do not get an acceptable responce!

99% of our deliveries have Gps information attached so if the driver said he has been he will have gps to back him up and if you say he has not been the company can see that!

The issues you may have with tracking are normally related to agency drivers and we all sometimes need to use agency to cover sickness or high volume of parcels.

We use DPD at work we send over 200 parcels a day and never really get any problems, go figure

here is my story of woe.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/misc/just-want-nappies-home-delivery-network-1242389

it was eventually 3 days late (after amazon's latest estimated delivery date given), it had 24hr urgent stuck on it when I eventually got it.

I work for dpd and we are under so much pressure. At our depot u are sacked if u don't stick to it etas, hence why we falsely, yellow card peoples parcels. It helps is stay within the etas. It's extremely difficult at times. Maybe u should try working with one of us and u will.see how.good we can be and how hard we work. I always try to deliver on time. Dpd offer a good service. Shame tho that as an employee we are treated like dogs.

But surely it's just as quick to knock a door and have a parcel signed for, as it is to write out a card? This is one thing that always baffles me with couriers.

Write the card whilst driving, post and run.

RE Gatwick 15 What a shame dpd is let down by its own system, i emailed them with directions to find our flat on the 19/07/12, the next day it was allegedly delivered to us , signed for by someone we dont know, even if they live in the same block as us ! the parcel even had our phone numbers on it so who do they employ and what are they like as drivers,
This is not the first time i have heard of dpd dropping an almighty ****** through their drivers not taking time etc to check details on address labels!!!!
#21
They suck in my experience. I had to get 4 alloys couried, cost a fair it but whatever. Anyway 2 weeks after they said they would collect them, after atleast one call a day to them to get them picked up & waiting in needlessly they finally got picked up... at 9pm by an angry young guy who came out with a sob story about being busy.

I'm also Aberdeen.

Ordered 3 Parcels from ASOS to be delivered next day by the wonderful DPD. Didn't arrive. Tracked to find they had been delivered and signed for by ME????? I think not! Considering i was in the Garden at the time the so called delivery happened this is a lie. (had a phone call at the time)
After asking for a copy of the POD about 6 times i finally received it to see that someone had fraudulently signed for my goods. The signature was as far away from the likeness of mine as you an get. I'm then told that an investigation will be done and i will be given a description of the person who signed for it? What am i Miss Marple? am i expected then to go and find this mystery person???? So 30 phone calls later, endless twitter messages and emails my problem is hopefully resolved but the parcels are where????

1. Didn't deliver at time specified
2. Didn't get a signature from the customer

Complete shambles!

Please can anyone help? I had a delivery from DPD, my son took delivery, the delivery man handed a parcel to my son asked him to sign for parcel then left. We have since found out my son had unwittingly signed for two parcels but only given one, he was not told he was signing for two, now company supplying the goods are saying we signed and received both parcels. Has this happened to anyone else?? Need advice.

DPD is a swear word here, I ordered a part from Hobbyking Germany to be delivered to me in France, according to their tracking, they first couldn't find the address, said it was wrong, then they claimed they attempted delivery. An outright lie, I stayed in all day waiting for these bumbling incompetents, now Hobbyking want a handling fee and additional postage to resend. Needless to say I'm cancelling the order and claiming a full refund.

I cant get help anywhere! My parcel supposed to be delivered today no sign of it so went on site to track it only for it to say no one available to sign for it. I was in my front garden all morning wiv front door wide open no one came to deliver anything. Whats made me even more mad i can not contact anyone from company to help me and parcel was expensive and for my daughters 16th birthday. So mad. So thanks dpd for ruining my daughters birthday as still have not got parcel or even know where it is! Company with lazy drivers who cant be bothered to look for an address if not right in front of them and a joke of a customer service as uncontactable and really couldnt give a damn it seems!
#28
My advise post on to Facebook
The social media guys are excellent!!

Not had any problems so far with dpd and I've used them a few times. It could be mainly down to the fact the driver is the same person that delivers my parcels all time and if no one is home he will leave it with my neighbour.

Only courier I avoid is Hermes as they are real cowboys

dpd an excuse wothy of an oscar i live in the highlands and islands that why a parcel takes so long to get delivered 30 miles of aberdeen

Dpd have lost 6 parcels worth £15k in the warfield area. The driver said in his own words, ' I couldn't find the address so I asked this guy who was eating lunch outside a unit. He said yes that's me and took my parcels. Signed his name Gary Neville. One week later, Dpd haven't even managed to ask the driver to go back. They have been utterley useless. my DPD rep craig burch isnt worth a toss. the gold team are hopeless and the executive enquiry team, cant return a call.I called the police, who told me today, that they can't help, apparently it's ok to steal in Berkshire.
On Monday I am going to take matters into my own hands and go and find my parcels or a load of trouble. No one cares, it's not their money.

DPD ARE HOPELESS.
Not for the first time a delivery has not been actually attempted by DPD. Even though I am home and working looking straight out over my driveway with a wall of glass between me and anyone visiting my house - the parcel has been left with my "neighbour". However the "neighbour" is in a separate road and I have to pass 15 houses to get to them. My real neighbour has been in all morning as well.
I've long learnt from past experience - NEVER USE DPD.
#34
I know what it's like to be a driver and you are pushed but please don't blame the driver its DPD that are at fault.

Not sure if I should post links to other sites but here is my experinace: http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.dpd.co.uk/532b4e7500006400027e7f40

Please never use DPD and help the driver get a good job with a professional company.

I saw a guy carrying a TV outside my door yesterday so I smashed him over the head with a shovel.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to apologise to DPD and wish their delivery driver a speedy recovery...:)

Ha,ha makes me laugh. I've ordered three items since xmas and ALL three times I've been told id get a text telling me when Items are coming and only once I actually got a text confirming a time of arrival and then that turned up late.Even when I have text them to re arrange I didn't hear a word.Do they not realise people work and can't just sit in all day waiting for them not to turn up?

Useless,disorganised company!

They are a very useless ridiculous company...this time round I sat at home waiting for my parcel which was meant to be delivered between 10.17 and 11.17.. some where around 10.45 I get an email to say my package has been delivered to a different location on the street for whatever reason. I find it hard to believe the driver found it convenient to deliver somewhere else which has nothing to do with my address rather than knocking on my door. I contacted their customer service immediately who were worse claiming they are trying to help by sending me a picture of the location where the parcel has been left. I made it clear that as long as the driver had no reason for dropping the package at a different location other than laziness and sheer incompetence I will not pick this up and expect delivery to my door not some shop whom I have no business dealing with. At the moment Dpd are suppose to pick up the package amd redeliver but haven't done this yet. The sender is arranging to send a replacement package due to the stupidity of the dpd driver and its a shame he insists on using this useless delivery company again!!! Well lets see what they come up with this time round.
