Dr Who back next Saturday

Thought they might start the new series following the final episode of Torchwood. I enjoy Torchwood, but can't stand John Barrowman. Still, at least John's still got a job on the panel to pick the leads for the new production of Oliver. If anyone can pick a good "Nancy" it will be John!!

I like torchwood but can't stand the sexual undertones of it. There is no need for the 'in your face sex' or constant inuendo. I just want a good sci-fi story. I'm so sick of the previous content that I'm seriously thinking of giving it a miss altogether. I've been an avid watcher of Dr. Who and thought the 'spin off'' would be good but the sexual thread running through it spoils it for me. I wrote to the BBC & complained but as expected they just said it was after the watershed and stated it had adult content! SO looks like I will have to vote with my feet.

I would'nt call it "in your face" and even so its part of the story. Would it not be easier to switch channel instead of writing to the BBC:whistling:

Yeah you're probably right. I will just not watch it as it makes me cringe in its current format. I just don't think it adds anything to the storyline and would have been enjoyable to me otherwise. I don't know of any other sci-fi series that does this (and it is in your face).

Yeah, in series 1 we had John snogging every bloke in the cast. Apart from that I'm sick of seeing him promoting his sexuality at every opportunity, & on every programme that gives him airtime. Just stop ramming it down peoples throats for gods sake (no pun intended!!) Some people are gay, WE KNOW THAT SO GET OVER IT JOHN. Ironic though that just 25 years ago he would have spent the night in the cells and been up in front of the magistrate in the morning. Dunno about the rest of you, but where I work, unless you are gay, from an ethnic background or disabled, you get treated like a second class citizen. I was never prejudiced, but Political Correctness drives people to be prejudiced. Got to go 'cos some nonce is trying to nick me Audi Quattro.
Thanks for listening.

Agree with you there,my 7yo daughter loves Dr Who and i thought she would like this as well but after watching some of it decided i didn't fancy trying to explain what a **** buddy was.Looking forward to Dr Who mind you.

I watch with my 17 year old sons and they don't like the inuendo either but we are looking forward to Dr. Who and as its before the watershed should be OK. Enjoy!

The only thing that has irritated me about Torchwood is that I can't start to watch it till after the 4th. I have to have the whole series as it ruins it if I have to wait for the next episode, made that mistake with Ashes to Ashes. Dr Who I can watch straight away though as the storylines tend to be pretty simple and rarely follow from one episode to the next.

Can't stand Torchwood, this second series is absolute rubbish, and there are enough bendies about without Barrowman's antics.

Not sure about the new Doctor Who series. I have my doubts about the inclusion of Catherine Tate. the Christmas episode with her was a complete disaster, and so far the previews have not done anything to change my opinion of her. She could cost them dearly. Maybe thats why DT isn't doing anymore series after this.

HHmmm so your saying someone who watches DR.Who and torchwood does not have a life? Please could you state your exact reason for such a flippant and arrogant remark?
Cheers
