I hate horror as well, I really don't see the point in it, and how people get a kick out of it.

Then you hear of how that boy was tied to the tree, doused in petrol, made to swallow it and burned alive. All over some tart.

Makes me wonder sometimes...

*edit* Never seen the film, barely heard of it and don't give a monkeys :)

Totally agree, when I was a nipper the horror films were rated 18, now they are dumbed down to 12's and 15's to get more bums on seats. Arrgghhhh I am an adult and I want to be scared witless, sadly that hasn't happened for quite a few years.

I want a horror films that grip me from the moment they start and take me on a roller coaster of fear and terror.

I was scarred for life when i watched the Exorcist , it was the early 80's and i had invited my younger sister round to watch it with me as my hubby had gone to the pub..We lived in a terraced house with the front door leading on to the pavement and the front door was off the lounge..Well i was sitting with my back to the door totally engrossed in the film ( well asking my sister when it was safe to open my eyes) when un beknown to me My hubby was outside with the broom and he stealthly pushed it through the letter box and tapped me on the shoulder with it...I should have divorced him there and then...Ive never watched a horror film since...

The only horror film that has ever creeped me out is The Shining. Excellent film IMO.

I don't think they are dumbed down I just think you get a used to them, I too was scared by Friday the 13th when it came out but now nothing scares me (I too wish they would).

Recent scary films are probably just that to the younger generation who will in turn become unscareable (if there is such a word)

I was told it was "good" but not really sure what that means lol

I'm not into horror films though, they don't really do it for me. only watch them if I'm invited to.
The only film which freaked me out a bit was The Ring, it didn't exactly scare me but damn did it unnerve me!

Well it is directed by sam raimi, who directed evil dead, evil dead back in the early 80's was really scary and a total revelation in film making,to some who were too young or not even born when this was out will probably not agree but this was unique back in the 80's a really jumpy screamer.
So this film has a good chance in ******** you up,i havent seen it yet but will do soon.

yep for lil babies and parents/mums etc..... so babies cane cry and what not. theres kids showings on at a different time. i take my 5 and 2 yr old there and my 2 year old makes loadsa noise but i know 7 month olds can start crying randomly and the newbie screening is designed for babies....not as dark or as loud...and all others are there with babies...ive never been...was thinking of going but i think i'll be out of place with a 2 year old..hes kinda in between baby and kid!!

http://www.odeon.co.uk/fanatic/newbies/

ODEON Newbies is exclusively for parents with new babies. Watch current film releases with your little ones and sit back and enjoy the latest blockbusters.
ODEON Newbies encourages all parents to bring their babies along to the screening so there is no need to worry about your little one making any noise.
ODEON Newbies screenings are held weekday mornings and most cinemas have baby changing facilities.
The volume in Newbies screenings will be slightly quieter and the lights will be raised more than usual, creating a more calming environment for you and your baby. All films will be certificate 12A or lower.
Tickets are priced as normal with babies going for free.
