Hi, just wondering if anybody has any suggestion. My husband is supposed to have his test this morning, but he is so ill he couldn't go. DSA said they won't give me refund unless I provide a sick note.

Just been to GP, he said, he can't give out any sick note unless it is more than 7 days. he can give a letter but it's gonna cost me £35. now I am stuck, don;t know what to do.

Wait 7 days then get the sick note?
Or does he have to still be sick in 7 days time?

you will lose the fee unfortunately, paying for doctor note will still mean you lose your test fee "nearly"

not a lot you can do, try ringing the test centre and pleading

My sister had the same problem and got a letter from the docter instead of a sick note which she posted to the DSA. The DSA posted back saying it is invalid and only a sick note is valid. If i were you call DSA and explain what the GP has said and see what they say before paying £35 upfront.

And my sister told me she never lost her fee btw - confirm with the DSA

Fork the money out for a new test

Get him to go back to the GP in 7 days (regardless of whether he's been back at work or not) and tell them he's been off since and needs a sick note for employers..

had called and explained, she said only sick note accpeted, no sick note, no refund.
GP said, give DSA his direct line so he can confirm, DSA said, it has to be in writing :x

yh thats exactly wot my sisters docter had said but ill tell you now a sick note is all that will work. Call ur gp again and explain that they only accept a sick note and nothing else and see where it goes from there.
