DS and DS Lite Games - Is there a difference??

Hi

My daughter wants a DSi for Christmas, my kids currently have DS Lites so we have lots of games, however, I was looking on ebay earlier and there are games that say for the DS or DS Lite only NOT the DSi.

I didn't realise there was a difference, will our DS games not work on the DSi.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

no difference in the cartridges-the dsi does have some downloadable games but all carts will work.

there may at some point in the future be carts that are for dsi only using the camera but not yet.

Not at all, all DS games should work fine on the DSi - only older Gameboy Advance games can't be played on it. In fact, I think there are plans for DSi only games which won't work on other DS models so you should be fine regardless.

I am in the same situation, and noticed lots of DS games from Hong Kong that say in big capitals, not for the DSi. I don't want to chance it, as I don't understand why. Is it anything to do with regions?

OK thanks.

The ones on ebay must be fake carts then do you think? Luckily I read the whole description, certainly puts you off using it for games, I always filter down to UK only but this is still on some UK sellers listings.

I don't see how it can be to do with regions? Can you? The ones I've seen are UK sellers, I suppose they may have imported the game but I'm beginning to think they are fake carts that dont have the technology in them to work on the DSi.

yes they are fakes-all genuine ds carts,NO MATTER what country they were made in will work in a uk ds/dsi.

just a heads up to be careful buying ds games from Hong Kong as a cpl years ago bought quite a few and checked they all worked before i left feedback, were about 30% cheaper than high street, when kids really got into playin games they just stopped working, console didn`t recognise the cart at all, so you may save a cpl quid initially but end up having to buy again, so i never buy ds games unless i can verify they are 100% u.k. ones

That's nothing to do with them being from the UK or not.
