I'm assuming you are use a dodgy cart, I have played mario kart using r4 cart via wifi so i guess the answer is yes
#2
yes u can play online

i was online on mario kart last night
#3
that makes 3 of us -works great too

Yes it can, however the online protection for the DS(WEP I think) is so outdated now my newer laptop security (WPA I think) will not go that low so I can either set the security on my router to WEP for the DS or WPA for the laptop but I cannot have both running at the same time

Great point

I got a new belkin wireless router the other month - I have to change it to WEP from the higher security settings, everything else - my laptop, psp, wii and ps3 all work fine on the higher security settings.

Very annoying

Yeah I only did it once and it was a pain so never did it again, so I got Mario Kart on the Wii.

The DS needs to update it's security levels so they are all compatible.

If you've got a legit game, there should be a section in the instructions.

Yes, we have a wireless router, its a Netgear DG834GT model.
Right, so far i have done the following & Im still stuck.
Ive put a wifi game into the DS, gone to wifi connection set-up, gone to connection 1 slot, then hit "search for an access point" - then DS says "The Access Points security settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS".

So where do i go from here ?

HELP !

Did it locate your access point?

Check what security level your router is set to. Is it WEP, WPA etc.
#13
No it didnt.
Sorry, dunno how to check that ?????

Had the same problem went into settings on my orange livebox router and selected the option WPA OR WEP saved the settings and it sorted it so i could use the internet with my computers and laptop and also go online with the ds at the same time.
#15
would one of these solve the problem everyone is having?
#16
Yes it works great,my son puts on 42 Alltime Classics and Mario Kart on Ds for online play.

It's more reliable than PS3 to play online with.
