Just had a look my ds I just bought of my mate and there is something in slot 2 on the ds.

Any idea what this is ?

the ds lites these days come with a blank plate. is it that you see?

it will be same colour as ds, and when you switch ds on it shows slot 2 as empty

lol! always wondered why it has the circuitboard connector on it but I think it's just to lock it in place. Bet a lot of people wonder this.

i assumed it helps keep them clean.

The slot 2 is also used to play GBA (Gameboy Advance) games on your DS console. The GBA console is the predecessor to the DS and when you use GBA cartridges in your DS, they will only appear on one screen (the top one) - the bottom screen will stay blank.

Also, if you have a DS cartridge and a GBA cartridge in the console at the same time when you turn the unit on, you will only be able to play the DS game. Just remove the DS cartridge (remembering to turn the console off first!) and leave the slot empty to play GBA games. The blank cartridge you were talking about originally is also just a protector to keep the console dust and dirt free. :-D
