If you like guinness you could visit the "guinness storehouse" before getting too drunk ;)

Find the pub on Temple Bar called The Auld Dubliner.

I went for a long weekend to Dublin last Winter and have to say thats my pick of the best pubs there. The live bands they had on were great and the atmosphere was superb.

Cheers for the suggestions guys will definatly be checking them both out.
What was the price of guinness, cider and lager out there i hear it can be quite expensive.

I remember paying about just over 5 Euros for a pint of Cider over there. Although it was worth every penny, nice cold Bulmers (same as Magners over here) straight from the tap.

Just makes sure nobody buts Vodka and coke. Around 10 Euros for a Double Vodka and Coke.

Take lots and lots of money - it's extortionate over there - a joke in fact.

Dublin is a very nice city to visit for a few days, i am off in about 2 weeks for my 4th time. Temple Bar is the main area to head for if your with a youngish crowd as it is bar after bar. But be warned it is very expensive. Last Novemeber i was paying about 5 euros a pint but in the oliver st john gogarty it was 6 euros for a pint of Kilkenny. With today exchange rate of about 1 to 1, that equals 5 or 6 pound a pint. We found the further you could walk out of the centre the cheaper it came, we waked up to the top of O'Connell St on our last day and found a pub selling beers at about 4 euros a pint. As for food there are loads of the big establishments around like McDonalds or Burger King. Then there is Abrakebabra which is like a local fast food compnay (a few shops i think) these sell things like kebabs and burgers.
If you fancy nicer things than that you can always have a night in the Arlington Hotel which has live Irish dancing and serves food, no more expensive than other places really but can be strict on who they let in.

Hope some of that helps.... have a good one.

The Auld Dubliner does as stevey says have a good atmosphere and another good haunt is the pub opposite St. John Gogarty's.
