I ask because CNM are over a month late sending me a cheque and PBD should have paid me and my partner yesterday by BACS.
Do I start the paperwork for the Small Claims Court now and see if I can get anything back or wait?
These scammers are still on Quidcrap and the links still work.:x SureShop merchants, ummm, how's that work for the Customer?

Same has happened to me Dino, CNM are now 2 weeks late since telling me I'd get my cheque in 10 days and they received that claim on the 3rd of July!

I have never heard of a company being liquidated paying out.

You are probably at the bottom of a big pile of creditors.

Have we got one thread to talk about tips and help? Is this it?

The original post, though incorrectly posted in the wrong forum (and has now been moved to an inaccessible forum by a moderator) sparked up some initial conversation.

There was an original post this afternoon entitled 'WARNING - coolnewmobile phoneboxdirect and phones2yourdoor liquidated', but it was eventually hidden from public view by the mods - Maybe because it was posted in to the wrong section? Maybe because it turned abusive? Who knows.

As well as that thread, there's the end of http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20790&page=11, and now this one.
I just wondered if there are any other threads, and which one will be the definitive collection of information

I don't really know much more about this than you do. PhoneBoxDirect emailed me recently saying that they were beginning to phase out cashback offers but I hadn't realised that it had gotten to this stage.

As for it being removed from QuidCo, it was announced that they would be removed from the affiliate (advertising) networks earlier today.

When did PBD email you? Without Cashbacks they won't get customers, without customers they don't get the big payouts from the Networks. Without this they go under. That means we can all kiss goodbye to our cashbacks. I'm due over £700 from PBD and just under £100 from CNM. :x

They were beginning to switch to free gifts like iPods/PSPs and smaller amounts of immediate cashback instead of the 12 months free deals. They'd understood the lack of confidence after the chatterbox scandal no doubt and they seemed to decide to start giving gifts worth less than the commission that they were paid. They seemed to make this decision a bit too late though.

Yea, at a cost to me and others.

edit:-
BTW, Chatterbox are still offering free mobiles.

Yes, I am aware of this. You'll also notice that I haven't been posting deals for them for a considerable amount of time.

Hehe, no. At the moment the best deals are at e2save, OSPS and Mobiles2YourDoor anyway.

Anyways, I'm off to bed. Night Dino. :)

Personally, I am looking at the deals from M2YD, they are a new company, but to me that is an advantage because by the time they realise cash-back becomes unviable, you would already have your cash-back safely stashed under your mattress. :)

I am in the process of taking 'The Mobile Outlet' to court, whether they survive until I get a judgement is questionable. :-(

Be careful calling them a new company, one eyed snake from the rpoints forums will be along any minute to have a go at you for giving out incorrect information!

Apparently they are a trading division of phones4u.

Not that it makes much difference but I referred to them as a new company from the 4u group which wasn't good enough!
#23
Sadly, there is no reliable site for cashback other than Carphone Warehouse (& its sister sites) now.. Stick with these guys and if you do ur but, at least there will be someone to claim from.

Surely m2yd and phones4u count as reliable? They are the only companys I use. (including cpw & sister sites)

Yes, I know who they are.

They should just be starting to process the 1st claims around now.

My current deal with The Mobile Outlet ends soon.

I will get a deal elsewhere, the phones offered since the tightening of the regulations are 'wii' poor. I sold my last one for £160, this is no longer achievable.

I saw someone the other day who said they had received their first cheque from m2yd, I didn't think the first ones were due until about January, mine aren't anyway.

Phones4U are still ok.

However, having lost ~ £450, I'd stick to CPW :)

could ppl stick to giving advise on current situation pbd/cnm....

what are if any the steps to reclaiming the debts?
banned#29
You would have to make a claim to the recievers, but the chances of you getting anything will be extremely slim, and don't expect anything in the next year or so at least.

Why stick to cpw if phones4u are ok? I assume you mean m2yd are ok too as they are the same company.
#31
I believe edi is being 'diplomatic'.
#32
I have to agree with edi - I would stock with CPW group that is CPW / e2save / OSPS / phonespot.

Having said that I have had to chase e2save's mistake for the last two claims although they have been resolved effeiciently.

I have heard not so good things about phones4u.

Don't forget CNM / PBD claimed links with Dextra Solutions, another major player in the mobile phone market, but are Dextra going to back Mobile affilates now? I don,t think so.

For what its worth I trued to call both CNM and PBD sales lines this morning and both are just ringing out.

My guess for what its worth is this is the begining of the end for large cashback deals i.e. 12 month cashback. These deals are getting rare on CPW sites and as other retailers fold the competion will be less.

My 12 month deal with e2save is up in December and I am seriously thinking of stopping the 12 month cashback deals that I have used for the last 4 years and going down the Virgin 300/300 deal for £10/month and save the hassle and stress.

just my 2 cents worth

I think 12 months free will be around for quite some time, although they will all be on the new pricematch t&c's so it will get tougher to get your money back.

Yep, can a mod tell us where it is or why it was deleted?

I posted on this thread then a few minutes later it was gone. Check misx musings and not there either.

There must be a good reason.....

Just thinking, with these rumours (I am being cautious, as I have no solid evidence), I would think that a lot of people will be cancelling under 7/14 day cooling off periods - this can only push the ship down quicker. Sympathies to those who lost out.

Can anyone confirm if:

M2YD is a trading name of P4U (i.e. is your contract with P4U or a ltd subsiduary/associate)?

Smilarly is thephonespot a CPW trading name - I was told by someone (who should know, but was a sales person trying to steer me to another offer) that they are not.

Finally any news/rumours about BMP.net as they are my only outstanding cashback claim.
