ok! here goes, need advice please on a new mobile. Let me explain, i am half way through a 18 month contract with O2 and my phone has broken and is unfixable.

So i am looking for a cheap 'nothing fancy' mobile that i can use my O2 sim from my contract in. Is this possible?? as you might guess i am totally clueless when it comes to mobiles.

Any advice/help greatly appreciated

Yes it is possible

Just make sure the phone you buy is an o2 branded phone or unlocked.

Unlocked i.e vodafone phone but can take any network sim card

Just get any cheap (nokia?) pay as you go mobile, Ideally on 02, else make sure it can be unlocked to all networks

Carphonewarehouse do this :http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/mobile-phones/NOKIA-1661/PPAY

It will come unlocked so works on all networks, doesnt matter which network you buy it on. £20.

It doesnt have a camera, but has a radio and comes with a headset.

You should have a years warranty, and as you're only 9 months in you could get it repaired. Unless, it was your fault that its broken? What about insurance?

Thanks all, out of warranty as i have the phone about 2 years, current contract i took with O2 was a keep same phone get £150. No insurance. Sent to get repaired but they said it was unrepairable.

Thanks again everyone. rep added

your contract is the sim card, the phoen is just a phone, so yes stick it in any phone that is 02 or unlocked and away you go

remembering the £10 top is is on a new sim card so will have a different number, it isnt a top up voucher you can add to any o2 sim

You can request the top up to be put on to an existing P&G sim, in store at least.

originally it was the screen ( dropped and got that sort of psychedelic screen colours where you cant see the text or digits)

on/off button was working when i sent to a guy from ebay in cheltenham to fix, he refunded said he could not fix and when i got the phone back on/off button wont work now, he claims it arrived that way.

so screen and on/off button
