Is £100 a good price for a small, second hand dyson ball?
Is it even a good vacuum cleaner?

what is the model

I have been shopping about as need an upright Dyson. We got rid of the wooden flooring and had carpets put down and our dyson cylinder isnt that great on the carpets - especially with having a dog

dc15?
i have a normal dyson, which i love, but its too heavy (i've hurt my shoulder), and thought this might be lighter, but still suck like a dyson.

cheapest I can see that model is £199.99 - so a good buy for you. Is a private sale or somewhere online. I am really wanting the animal Dyson.

Btw I think Dyson are great hoovers

Also this thread is really interesting as it seems u can get a complete overhaul on an old dyson that is out of warranty for around £60

I think this is a good buy to be honest. I used to have the animal cylinder but also have a dog so I had to go for an upright, the turbo brush thing is useless I have to admit, it needs to be motorised!! But the only downside to this vacuum cleaner is it has a small dust collector. You may need to empty it in every room if you have pets.

whats confusing me now is the dyson overdrive model - have read some people on here saying that is the animal model? Do you know anything!

what's the difference between an animal and an overdrive model?
i'm really just looking for something lighter than my existing dyson (which i love) but i've no pets, but do have a seven year old so need a 'hoover' that actually works, butdon't have £200 for the one on offer in the shops.:x

I have the dyson ball and it's a fab cleaner- as long as you regularly rinse/ air dry the filter. it's so so soo easy to operate around things (like they show in the ad) mine is the normal sized one and we bought it on offer in comet abt 3yrs ago for £170.. bought 3. 1 for me, one for sister and one for the aunt! lol. no one's disappointed, and all still going strong. great suction- you can even see it pulling the carpet up in the middle of the few carpetted area in the house. as for £100 for a 2nd hand one- try before you buy if u can..just to see the strength of the suctiona nd also- how old is it? they all have a 5yr warranty- needs to be registered and im not sure if its transferable..

IMHO the Dysons are all pretty good. There are several versions of the Dyson Ball. If it's the small (DC24) one it's about £190 new and can't be too old so seems like a reasonable price.

I think the overdrive one is a DC25 which is the full weight one

There's a full spec table here http://www.dysonforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13
