iv had the belt break before but this time its different .i can actually see psycial lights coming from inside the vac, its like bright white light and it smells of somthing burning

How old is it.

Call the Dyson support line. Im sure i head that in their training they have to learn how to dismantle and re assemble a dyson so should be able to help you with your problem!

If it's under warranty send it back.
if not put it in the garden leave it running and see what happens, might be entertaining and worth recording.

What sort of noise, sounds like the brushes in the motor might be worn out if your getting sparks
#6
Your motor has gone. Same happened to me last week, and our DC07.

£70!
bearing in mind how much it cost and how long it's lasted you're probably better off getting a new vacuum. Some of them come with a 5 yr wty and could cost less than a repair (VAX in Argos). Everyone i know who's had a dyson would NEVER go there again. Plus it is quicker to pick uone up than waiting for yours to be fixed.

There is a Argos offer for £149 for a DC19 which is probably better than getting it repaired for £70 odd & comes with 5 year guarantee.

have you taken the filter out and cleaned it, ours went kaput a while back and it was the filter not leting any air through.

Hi
if it is not under warranty I repair and sell dysons, I would be happy to put in a used motor for £40 that includes collection and deliver and 3 months warranty .
My ebay name is dysonstuff.
