E-bay help

Last week I sold two items on E-bay, one was a chair the other a swing

They both went to different bidders, they was also both completely different sizes and thus so one went in a massive box the other in a small box. I packed the chair in the smaller box a soon as the auction ended and put the address on. 2 Hours later when the auction for the swing ended I did the same and arranged for them both to be picked up by a Courier.

They done that and delivered, I then got an e-mail from one of the buyers saying she had received the chair and not the swing she had ordered. My first thought was b******s so I offered her either a full refund or said I would get in contact with the other buyer and arrange the couriers again to swap the items around.

She said she wanted a refund which was fine, I then decided to contact the other buyer to see what she wanted to do as if she wanted a refund I would just let them both keep what they received but she said that she received the chair and it was lovely, she even left me some positive feedback.

So I know have one buyer saying she got the correct items and one saying she didn't.

So it's two scenario's

One - Wrong items delivered the lady who ordered the chair got the swing but said she got the chair as the swing is worth much more than she paid for the chair.

Two - Correct items delivered but the lady who paid for the swing is pulling a fast one and wants it for free.

Now what do I do except for not sell on E-bay again!!!!

I know i'm tempted just to let one of them or both raise a dispute and then provide the tracking number saying it's been delivered so basically just f them both off and get my negative feedback then never sell on there again

But i'm too nice and one of them is obviously conning me but I don't want the innocent one to lose out just in case the two parcels have somehow gone to the wrong address

Could you organise collection of the chair (if financially viable) and then you'll know who's telling porkies? You'll also have your chair back.

maybe contact the delivery company see if the courier can remember the size of the parcel he delivered to the address, tis a long shot but ya never know if it was large he may remember!

The lady who should have got the swing lives in Maidstone which is where my old dear lives so it is possible to go to her house but the lady with the chair is up north somewhere so not possible.

I think though it's most likely it's her in Maidstone who is conning me so I wont get very far if I turn up at her doorstep.

I doubt they'll entertain me if I ask them to be honest, I will try that but I think they'll jut say our couriers deliver loads of parcels every day they wont remember

hmm me thinks you should contact her and tell her that u would like to come get a picture to confirm she has the right goods to provide to paypal as the other buyer is claimin not to have hers. Just explain the situation and act as if you believe her and think the other buyer is lying and if she isnt lying she has no reason to deny you

(or ask her to provide a picture of the item with a piece of paper with her name and address on it which she could genunially believe is for paypal purposes) in the end by refusing she is provin she has something to hide

Yep, agree with that one. Worth a try.

secondly i would refuse a refund until the item has been returned. If she disputed thru paypal she would need to return at her own cost anyways! You can always advise if she returns it and its the wrong item you will refund her the postage costs

I think your right actually, what i'm going to try though is;

E-mail both sellers asking them for a picture, the one who isn't conning me will hopefully provide a picture of what she has

Hopefully that will work, it's just a shame that when I find out which one is pulling a fast one I can't leave her negative feedback

tell them both since there has been a mix up with deliveries the delivery company are requiring photographic evidence in order to investigate it, one of them is telling the truth and should be more than happy to assist

oh good luck with it-i would have said ask for pics too-it just shows the people on ebay atm...

If one was bigger than the other then chances are the swing will weigh more than the chair. Go back to your courier order and check the weights/price against the address. Should give you an idea.
