Hi all,

On the 15th of December I purchased a car number plate on E-bay via paypal.(buy it now)

I have tried to contact the seller via ask seller a question and his E-bay e-mail address to confirm the staus of my order.
He has failed to reply or respond to any of them.

I now have notification from E-bay that the item has been removed for breaching their policies and the seller is no longer registered..

Previously I have never had a problem with my E-bay/Paypal purchases so am
unclear what to do next???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advance

Start a claim with paypal now. If you get the number plate before the claim is decided then you can cancel it. :)

You can file 'item not received' via paypal after 7 days, so you could do that now and if the seller can't prove delivery you will get your money back.

You will have to open an item not recieved dispute after the minimum time for disputes has passed.

This may help.

but dont the auctions get removed if a seller gets banned? Therefore the paypal claim becomes moot.

If ebay have withdrawn the item and removed the seller, you should find that a refund has automatically gone through in your paypal account. If not then you should do as the others have suggested, you can escalate the claim for a quicker response via thier help section too.

Being no longer registered doesn't neccessarily mean they have gone for good, suspension gives the same message, in which case the claim could still go through.

Even if they are permanently banned, paypal will still honour the claim

Open a dispute with Paypal

Hi all,

Thanks for your prompt replies to my problem.

I have opened a dispute with Paypal and as he is no longer registered with E-bay he
has no obligation to fulfil his side of the contract..
I have escalated the claim in an attempt to get my money back a bit quicker.

Thanks again and have a good one.. :santa:
