My first so, so please go gentle!!
I have recently been receiving E-Mails that appear as my E-Mail address, sent to my E-Mail In Box. I have not sent them to myself!!. They appear to be from "Adsvalue", but when I try to unsubscribe it sends me to a different website and I cannot unsubscribe. I am with BT, but receive my Mail through Windows Mail on Vista. How can my E-Mail address be being used by someone else??. How can I stop this??.
Thanks

First of all Welcome to HUKD.

Second of all, Just block communications from that address, set it to junk, so that it will go into your junk folder, but will still be there if you need 2 email yourself something. Easy as pie i think..

Hope it works

You will have a virus.

This will be scanning your address book and sending out emails appearing to be from you.

Download AVG and Spybot Search & Destroy, and run some scans.

Whatever you do dont try to unsubscribe to these sites as you will then be verifying to them that you have an activate email account and then you will get even more junk mail

I second!! never try to unsubscribe from these types of emails. once they know you've an active account they will even sell your address to others that you have an active account

I dont think your email is being used by anyone . I get them too but mainly from my tiscali account , they appear to be sent by me to myself .Everynow and then I trace them to find out where they originate from . I traced a one from Brasil yesterday . Sometimes you can block emails from senders , but it does'nt always work with these types of emails . You could use a anti-spam program . I just installed MailWasher yesterday as I'm fed up with recieving rubbish emails for viagra/watches/ etc .These programs filter out the rubbish and automatically delete the unwanted emails .

Personally I would get rid of Norton and us Avast.
But no you shouldn't run 2 virus scanners at the same time.
