Ear Correction Surgery - North West

I would like to get my ears pinned back if possible and have been told I cannot get it done on the NHS, so I need to start looking at getting it done privately.

Does anyone know any clinics which provide this, preferably in the Northwest so i can start contacting a few places for quotes and consultations.

Many thanks

James

Why should non-essential cosmetic surgery be carried out for free on the NHS? It's to treat the ill, not the vain.

How totally ignorant.
It's comments like that that lead to poor self esteem affecting peoples mental well being, that's why things like this sometimes get done on the NHS.

OP, can you not ask to see another Dr?
If it means that much to you I would say it is worth persuing....

I know someone that had hers done a couple of years ago and her GP refused before going ahead and agreing...it made all the difference to her...good luck either way.

If you actually took the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx out of yourself once in a while, we wouldnt have the PC police on red alert every 2 mins !!!!!

It defo used to be, a couple of lads at my school (10+ years ago) had it done. Couldn't comment on now. I was under the impression however that if something really affected you mentally then it would be done on NHS. I have had moles removed on NHS (cosmetic purposes only), my cousin also had a tummy tuck on NHS after losing lots of weight and being left with loose skin after kids (again though the tummy tuck was prob 10 years ago so rules could have changed).

Another factor is the area of NHS, (PCT I think it's called) one thing may be allowed in Manchester but not in Surrey.

Thanks for all the sinsicle replies. I will check out the links and contact a few places to see about a consultation. It can be done on the NHS but its only for people who subber bad mentally and since I'm not too bothered about I couldnt get it done, I just hate photos of me etc and get really self concious about them.

I will see my GP again too to see if they can reccomend anyone who they have good reports from.

Thanks again
