Earth Mobile Ceased Trading, What Can I Do?

Hi Guy's,

I sent two old mobiles to earth mobile on the 04/08/2010 and paid for recorded delivery.

I have just tracked the parcel and it is still showing as being processed through our network for delivery on the Royal Mail website.

I then went onto Earth Mobiles website and it says that they have ceased trading on the 09/08/2010.

Now obviously Royal Mail cannot deliver the parcel as it needs a signature but how can I go about getting them back? Or even just the money that they where going to pay me?!

Many Thanks

Johnny

Royal mail should return them if they can't deliver
If they were delivered you need to contact the administrators

Its not showing as delivered and I have no idea who the administrators are:

If its not showing up as delivered then wait to see if they come back if they dont put in a claim to royal mail for lost items as if you have your return address on the back they should return them to you?

I doubt recorded delivery would cover the value of the phone unless you added extra cover, when I have sold the odd phone on ebay I have always used special delivery, recorded only ever covers up to the value of 100 x First Class stamps at the time bought.

it might be / might not be the case with you - but certain items i have posted in the past have shown that they are still in the delivery process, when i have checked online, even when they have been delivered - the problem being that it has taken a while to update the system.

Hopefully this will be the case with your phones and they have got to the detination before the 9th when the company ceased trading. have you contacted them to see if they have recieved them?

yeah worth rininging up and checking to see if they have been delivered and not updated online.

ooh sorry iv just read the linked article - doesnt look too good, with the company seeming to have ripped off many other people.

You should just hope that the phones havent been delieverd and then all you would have lost out on is postage - if you get your phones back.

Good luck OP.

can you technically report it as stolen and claim on your home insurance? it is after all a theft.
