Things we're looking for are seaside resorts with amusements and things like crazy golf and stuff. Also nice walks and nice places to eat and drink.

I've been to Largs, Ayr and Craig Tara but something along those lines would be great.

Cheers!

cant beat saint andrews tbh-we go every year-great walks and scenery. fantastic restaurants for all price ranges. the hardest putting green in the world(the himalayas) amusements, tennis, the byre theatre, the castle blah blah-you wont regret it m8-it is beautiful.

if you do go do the ghost tour one night its great fun.

Isle of Arran by chance?

I love Ayr too. Defo during the summer. Can't imagine it being very good any other time though :)

We took the kids during the October holidays lol, we ended up having a great day, weather was excellent, beach was empty, amusements were empty, took them into Pirate Petes, let them run about the park, such a great day, we just get that family day tripper ticket which gets our bus fare here then train fare to Ayr, buses in Ayr(with participating ones), train back and bus fares home, its an excellent ticket if your only going for the day.

£16.75 for 2 adults and 4 children up to the age of 15.

Lol see to be honest I'm no sure, OH reckons you get the ferry from Wemyss Bay. I've not personally been but OH Gran used to rave about it, said she loved taking the weans there when they were wee.

Added some links for ya to have a look.

Yeah and there is Craigtoun Park with the facilities too within 10 mins of St Andrews. Cant beat the East Sands for a great day out...
