ebay advice please!

I put our Landrover for sale on ebay.
The auction ended yesterday.
Anyway my problem is that the buyer hasnt contacted me over 24hrs later. Also the buyers phone number is not recognised when I try and call it.
The buyer has a feedback of 4 which is made up of transactions which are a couple of yrs old.
So how long do I wait for this person to contact me? They have both my mobile & home numbers so its not that I have missed the call.
Its a lot of money which is needed asap which is why I sold it in the first place.
Probably jumping the gun a little but I just keep hearing these stories about bidding and then not buying!
How long should I wait?

Yup, that's all you can do. Really annoying I know. But did you put in the item description that the winning bidder must contact you within 24 hours? If so message them that as they haven't if they don't contact you within the next 24 hours that you will sell to the 2nd highest bidder

Sent them an email as well. Yesterday and again this morning.

Just wondered how long I should wait as Ebay reckons after 7 days you can report non payment. Wondered if this came uner the same sort of thing

Worst thing i ever did was to sell (or try) and sell my brother in laws car on ebay!!, 2 auction blowouts & 2 classified ad blowouts, amazing amount of time wasters buying cars on ebay (and most other things!!), why not try and google the postcode they have provided to make sure it tallies to the address given, just to make sure it is correct,

Unfortunately I forgot and when I tried to add it the night before the auction closed it wouldnt let me edit it. Dumb I know:oops:
Do you think I could do that anyway and get away with it? Dont really wanna damage my 100% feedback and not sure what relation this would have to it

Just googled it and the address matches the postcode.

I hate silly ebayers, especially on a big item like this, I think they should let people with over 10 or 20 feedback buy stuff like this because theres so many problems. I feel for you. You want to get rid but cant and its a lot of money i bet.

I dont think ebay will take any notice of that as the buyer has 7 days by ebays policies to complete the transaction, you cant report them unless the have violated one of their policies:x, an unpaid item dispute cant be open for 7 days sadly, but if they have used a false contact information you can report them straight away:)

I just think you are going to wait until they contact you, if they dont after 7 days then open a non paying bidder dispute, but sadly if you do this they can still pay for the item within 7 more days so i think you have to wait for 14 days before you relist unless they pay:x, the phone number being wrong may just be an error, but im afraid you are going to have to wait

Contact ebay admin and check. But I'm sure you'll have to wait the painstakingly stupid length of time before you can do anything. Isn't it 10 days before you can file a none payment and then another 7 or 10 days before it can be closed.

Have you tried directory enquiries to get this persons REAL phone number?

I presume you'll have full name and address. Worth a try.

So a number that doesnt work would be classed as false info?
Praps I should give them until tomorrow and then report them

Good plan! See thats why I come on here for advice as I have a not so highly functioning brain at the moment!

Unfortunately the plan didnt come together as there are no listings for anyone by that name at the address!

Yes, its terrible, its 7 days from the date of the auction ends to file a dispute, then another 7 days to close the dispute (can be closed on the 8th day after the dispute was opened), so in total its 15 days!!!

That sucks!
Have contacted ebay and asked for correct phone number.
If I dont here from them within next couple of days then I'll just sell it to whoever off of ebay.

Why not contact the second highest bidder and sound them out now? Beats relisting.

When this has happened to me in the past I get nowhere with 2nd chance offers as it has taken 14/18 days to get that far. And ofcourse, relisting it after you've waited for the ebay cycle to complete you could be another 21 - 25 days before you sell it.

Yeah might just do that.
Theres also a bloke who came to see it a couple of days ago that was bidding on it whose number I have.

Also having done a check on the aa route planner I cant see why it would be worth the buyers while travelling 177 miles for a car u can get anywhere!
