I am doing a little bit of buying and selling in ebay in the past year, feedback 158 now.
Sorry it is a long story.
I managed to get two Wii fits recently and put them on ebay - Buy it Now for £82.99+ £19.99. I know it seems a lot, but after cost price, courier, ebay and paypal charges I will get approx £10.
Anyway, last saturday three ebayers had emailed about local pickup. I emailed them back that they can if they are willing to pay £5 charge. One guy responded quickly that he will pick up the same day. I left the Wii fit with my husband to hand it to the guy after taking £87.99 and went to town. When I came back from town a guy knocked at the door and asked for Wii fit and my husband said someone had already picked it up. Anyway I gave him the other Wii fit I had. Apparently, when I had gone shopping, a lady had rung home taking phone number from ebay and has asked for address for local collection. My husband thought this ebayer is the one I mentioned. Her husband who came to pick up seems to have been puzzled at the £5 charge but paid.
In a couple of hours time, I received an email from the lady that £5 charge is wrong and not mentioned in the listing. I emailed and rung her to explain the mix up and I will pick the Wii fit from her and refund her. She was soooooooooooooo rude and said it not her problem, her kids are using it and she is not happy (read as negative feedback) and she wants £5 back. I refunded it to her Paypal the next day. I was so shocked about her rudeness and spent the Sunday (my birthday) in tears.
I don't think it is fair. If she is not happy, her husband should not have picked the item and she should not have used it before settling the issue with me.
Is there anything I can do at all?
