I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE !!!!

I WANTED TO BUY A MOIBLE PHONE A COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK AND HAD A LOOK ON EBAY AND FOUND A SELLER WITH 100% FEEDBACK I GAVE HIM AN OFFER AND HE ACCEPTED I SENT THE PAYMENT OF £105 BY PAYPAL AND HE CLOSED THE LISTING.HE TOLD ME HE WILL SEND THE PHONE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS BUT IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS AND HE HAS NOT SENT ANYTHING ALSO HE IS SELLING HIS STUFF ONLINE BUT NOT REPLYING TO ANY OF MY EMAILS AND JUST IGNORING THEM.CAN SOMEBODY SUGGEST WHATS THE BEST THING TO DO TO GET MY MONEY BACK.SINCE I DID NOT BID ON THE ITEM ON EBAY,AND MADE THE PAYMENT BY PAYPAL FOR GOODS NOT FOR AN EBAY ITEM ,IF I MAKE A CLAIM ,WHAT ARE THE CHANCES I WILL GET MY MONEY BACK.

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTION AS IM REALLY UPSET UPON THIS.

Hi
Bummer! Contact Pay Pal and explain the situation. They should reply within a day and should advise you on your next move. Is he Pay Pal verified? If so,you might still be covered (up to £500) on purchases. Also,if your Pay Pal account is verified/registered with your credit card,I think you should also be covered. Channel your frustrations in to getting your money back,or the phone...All the Best!

If you paid by paypal then you're covered. Log into your paypal account and follow the claim proceedure, explain your reasons (ie goods not received, seller not replying to emails etc.) The money will be taken back from the fraudulent seller immediately and refunded to you if the seller does not justifiy their delay or respond to the claim. DO IT NOW! 2 weeks to long enough.

Minimal at best. Did you use a credit card for payment? Go the claim route and if it fails and you end up with nothing AND used a CC, do a chargeback.

As for the 150/500 guarantee, that ONLY applies for items bought through Ebay NOT on items bought from outside websites/money transfers etc.

By the way, got an item number?

Seems the best way. I also believe that if you bid on one of his other items (setup another account ;-) ) you will be able to request contact details via ebay to get his phone number:thumbsup:

We should all bombard him with emails on his things, see if he replies!! LOL

I may very well do that later ;-)

In my opinion, it may be that the e-mail address he has supplied he may not be monitoring.

In instances like this, there is an option within HELP section (I think) where you can "request contact details" for the seller. You and he will both get an e-mail containing his address and hopefully a phone number. I have used this method a few times and always got hold of the other person who then says " Oh, that's my old e-mail address you've been using" Yeh, 'cos you didn't update it !!!

Try this and let us know hgow you get on.

That won't work as it was bought outside ebay.

I dont think this method will wake him up....I have tried both his email addresses the one registered with Paypal and the one he replied once from.Which clearly means he is ignoring my emails .

the bidding on his items idea is also not bad..I will definately try that and I hope it works.I have however sent messages to a couple of bidders on his items and explained them the situation and requested them if they can try sending him an email and see if he replies.

Be careful contacting other members, you can lose your account that way (auction wrecking).

Bang on the button!

File a claim through Paypal, escalate it as quickly as you can. This will put the money in his account on hold until the situations resolved.

You can bet once the money is on hold he'll reply.

Dont send any threatening or nasty emails, instead document the times and dates you have sent emails to the various addresses without response, and list them in your Paypal claim. Ask nicely for them to reply to you through the Paypal dispute console, and let them know if they havent responded within 7 days the claim will be escalated.

In future.... if you want to pay a lower price than a seller has on a listing, contact the seller agree a price, then ask the seller to add either a best offer function, or edit the price on the listing. That way you have a little more recourse should anything like this ever happen again.... and hopefully it wont.

Good luck!
