Its kinda like that to start off with your first few start off purchases......wait till a few months down the line and you wont be winning and swearing at the monitor lol
#2
ive passed ebay off and gone to another auctioning site...ebay kept taking my ex's stuff down :x
#3
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, no.
Congrats on winning. I bet you didn't go through Quidco.
I used to get excited, but you will always find another item again later on.

I'm after a Bron Mandolin but my limit is £40. I've 'lost' two bids but I've made that a favourite search so when new Bron Mandolins get listed I get notified and I watch and bid. I'm not in a rush for it so I'll wait until the 'price is right'.

heh yeah I was like that the first few times, same with selling...refreshing every few seconds to see if any more bids have come in. But you get over it after a while!

Also remember not to go OTT...decide your max bid before you start and stick to it!!

It's not so much the bidding that gets my heart beating, it's waiting to see if the item will actually arrive :S

i never go on ebay anymore, used to be addicted to it though!! :w00t:

eBay's great until something goes wrong. Then just try and get anything but an automated response out of them. The don't care about their customers one iota.

luckily ive never had a bad experience on ebay (touch wood). its not really the item that excites me, more the competition lol. i get a clock right next to me, i decide my max bid and then i time it so that no1 else will have a chance to outbid me. altho one time i left it to late and couldnt get my bid in lol.

oh and surprisingly i did actually remember quidco, but its showing as £0.00 and its written in a different colour to everything else, so i assume it didnt take.

I do know the feeling you get :)

someone accepted my offer to end an auction early, but this is there 1st sale and they have no feedback. what do you think?

I used to get all excited about fleabay, but it's worn off now!

My mate who's been buying there for ages still does tho, it's really funny watching her! ! !

Think it's entirely your choice, is it an expensive item?

Everyone's gotta start somewhere!

I got really worried about someone who won one of my auctions she had really low feedback & a couple of negs, but everything went thru smoothly.

Good luck!

Does the item have Paypal buyer protection?
Are you still buying the widget through ebay?

there's no buyer protection and paypal is the only payment option. it does say he's registered as a bussiness seller tho. yeah, i wouldnt do it outside of ebay.

Why did I assume this was a musical instrument :?

Looks like a smart bit of kit if you're into your home cooking. Probably a lot better than those cheap plastic things that you see advertised on tv for a tenner:-D

Back to thread

Still love the winning feeling on EBAY and like above post states havent yet tried out the Quidco option. Anyone else tried it?

yeah, i went thru quidco. it says tracked, but it also says £0.00 in the amount column, so not really sure.
#22
my quidco is showing £3.16 now from ebay, but only £1.10 tracked or something. so i guess it does work.

Haha, thanks!

My item did arrive this time, bought a camera which is around the 1300-1500 pound mark, cheapest online is 1000. I won the auction for 550 pounds so I was expecting it to either not arrive or be reconditioned or something but no - it's all perfect, I almost can't believe it. No more worrying until I stupidly take another gamble :)

I actually didn't know or think you had won anything when I wrote that ! I thought you were being sarcastic :giggle:

I'm really glad you got your item and it was what you wanted

ps. You can keep the rep I added :):)

I thoroughly agree with what 'dunno' says...yes, it's like that initially, but it does become a bit of a triumph when you get something you *really* want. It's that kind of passion that makes life so enjoyable IMO!

I got scammed on a laptop a few years ago so since then I've always been very careful with auctions but more recently I've bid on auctions that there's been a small chance it might not work out. I normally forget the end times so the wait for the item to arrive is definitely the bit that gets the heart going ;) I'm pretty lazy these days, I use buy it now most of the time if there's one in the price range I'm prepared to pay, can't be bothered to wait for the item to end, then be sniped in the last three seconds or so.
