I've just sold a faulty ps3 on ebay and the buyer made an instant payment but said that he made a mistake with his address and entered 35 instead of 37. I told him that i couldn't send to a different address because i wouldn't be protected by paypal. He then emailed me and said he was going to change his address and asked me to refund the payment so he could pay again with the correct address details. The thing is i've just checked the address and it's confirmed so how could he of entered it wrong. Something seems fishy to me. What is everyone else thinking? Thanks for any help.

Ebay will remove it if you tell them what happened anyway, but contact ebay first.

Could be genuine if he has only just registered, if you re-fund and he dosent pay with right address then dont send! and issue non paying bidder

Hi, I would but he'll just leave neg feedback and i've only just received a neg from a disgruntled buyer.

I would RUN, RUN away from this, a new buyer, who has the address confirmed, but says it's wrong, na, the credit card he has on file would have been checked against the billing address, thus giving that address it's confirmed status.

Never send to any address that is not on the paypal transaction, he asked you to do otherwise, then says it's wrong despite being confirmed...............any neg you get would be reversed under the circumstances if you keep on, report the buyer for false detials, it's all automatic.

Would you rather loose the ps3 and cash or get a neg? Easy trade I'd say.

He just sent this message but he didn't send it through ebay...

As you have taken to ignoring Ebay messages I have resorted to contacting you here. You have one hour to confirm that you do at least intend to send the item I paid for (albeit to the wrong address) or this goes straight to a dispute.

Hi, Thank you...i'm trying to contact ebay but it's asking me to select a topic and i don't know which one to choose. There was a contact us by email button but it was greyed out and i couldn't click on it.

He opened an item not received dispute with paypal lol......He accused me of keeping the ps3 and his money. i just refunded his money and cancelled the transaction. I've reported him to ebay and paypal. He was definately dodgy.

Thanks everyone for your help

You loose the fess now though?

I sent a transaction cancellation request and he accepted it so i got my fees back.

This is the unhelpful email i received from ebay.

I'm afraid we're unable to get directly involved in member-to-member
disputes. It's a matter of your own decision if you will send the item
to the preferred shipping address of the buyer. However, as you're
aware, we recommend sellers to send their item to the address registered
to their buyer's account to avoid further problems.

I've reviewed your account and I can see that you have opened a mutual
withdrawal case concerning the above item, and your buyer has accepted
this request. I'm happy to confirm the Final Value Fee you incurred for
this transaction has been credited to your seller account.
