ebay dilemma: should I leave Neutral or Negative rep???

I bought an external soundcard on ebay which was advertised as new, but is clearly not. It's got a few minor scratches and looks used. Should I leave neutral or negative feedback?

I just sent seller a message about it as it might be faulty as well. I can't get any sound when I use the Line In/ Mic inputs. If that's because I don't know how to use it then fair enough, but if it's faulty as well as used, I want a refund and perhaps then would leave negative rep.

A similar thing happened to me before when I bought a Phillips Living Colours lamp. It was advertised as new by the seller, but was definately used. I left neutral feedback that time as the seller did offer a refund - although excluding return postage.

I'd leave negative if you can (last time I heard, sellers can't leave negative as colinsunderland says but not sure if they've U-turned on that like the compulsary free postage for gaming and DVD items!!)

If you can't, leave a positive comment but mention it wasn't new... e.g. "Quick delivery but item definitely not new"
You can't leave positive feedback and say in the comment "terrible seller, not as described... argrhrgrhg" as there's some rule saying you can't do that and the seller will be able to have it removed. With the first suggestion, you're just kinda sneaking the negative comment in there so hopefully eBay would let it pass. At least that way some people might see your comment

P.S. Just looked on my iPhone again (to clarify it hadn't been updated since I last went on), and it still gives me the option to leave negative :) ! Not sure which app/or where your looking... And its showing on the sellers feedback as a negative (red) comment, not a positive (green) or neutral (grey) comment.

Really I just looked & went through the motions but it just said leave feedback with no option of a positive,negative or neutral, there's a person who I'd like to give a neg to aswell lmao

pr3cious everyone can leave neg feedback for a seller, Its the seller that cant Neg a buyer on Ebay.

See if you can neg a buyer of yours on the Iphone app, If you can that would be good to know as I have had some s*****y buyers recently!

the item is as described and all the instrucks are there it is brand new it stud at the side of our comp went back in box and i am not willing to refund just as you dont no how to work it what you need is to go on to creative site and that will show you step by step what to do and also it is what was advertised as it was ebay that done the spec for it as it came up with all sound cards we picked that one witch was the one it was and it told you everything and also it isnt the few scratches you are unhappy with or you would not be asking how to get it working there is nothing wrong with it i think it just isnt as good as what you as what you wanted also we stated no returns.we are sorry if you are not happy with the item but it is what we stated if it isnt what you want put it on ebay as it had 15 watchers and you will get your money back that way."

I would raise a dispute just for that.

go to the resolution centre on ebay and it will direct you? open an item not as described-be factual. I would add seller says no returns and to relist to sell on. Sounds like an illiterate idiot seller.

Seller stating no returns on auction doesnt make any difference at all to your case, just thought I would add that in, amusing when sellers state this.

And yeah I agree raise a dispute as new is new,and not opened and used

I opened a case with ebay and we'll see what happens. Fingers crossed xx

I would: Dispute it (paypal will be on your side) return it, get money back, then leave negative feedback

Ebay refunded me the £15.25 for the soundcard. Does anyone know if the refund came from ebay or the seller?
