Ebay Dispute: Advice Needed.(Update: Got my £206 back from Paypal with the Help of the FSA)

Update: I contacted the FSA and they wrote a letter to Paypal and Paypal have just Refunded the Total amount they took from my Account after about 4 Months.. Thanks for all the Advice, just wanted to let anyone in a similar situation know...
----------------
Hi All, I sold an Item on Ebay over a month ago, the Buyer was from Netherlands and It was a Original Dreambox HD. Buyer paid and Item was despatched, Unfortunatelu I forgot to Include the Power Adapter and buyer said I can Either give him a partial refund or send it out to which I agreed, In the meantime, He tested it and confirms its working fine, However he wants 50 Pounds for a partial refund, which is just too high, He also meantioned Opening up the Box to Fix an Harddrive. All of a sudden He no longer wants the refund but want his whole money back as the Box is now fake and its hot etc. So He reaised a dispute with paypal.
I responded to the request for Information informating paypal that Buyer was happy with the item originally but later uturned as the box is now faulty, Even if he was returning the Item, I do not believe it has not been tampered With, Now Paypal has decided in His favour and have refunded Him and want me to bring my balance up to normal as it currently in negative ballance, Plus they never said anything about the item , either for the buyer to return or otherwise.
Any advice will be appreciated.

What has he said to Paypal the reason for complaint, just that it's faulty ?

I thought as much, but thought after providing so much Information They have just Ignored my emails and buyers emails forward to them in respect of this and just went ahead with refunding the buyer, there is no way I am going to refund the money.

Usually a buyer has to "prove" something is fake before returning.

I would ring Paypal directly and speak to someone, also mention the email about opening the box, sometimes if you keep at them they do listen to sense and look into a case more for you.

Exactly How they have come to the conclusion that the buyer is right beats me? I ll try and give them a call and see what they have to say.

Just a thought, but I think if an item is "fake" then the buyer isn't asked to return the item. I may be wrong, hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge should be able to confirm?

If PP do side with him, and your balance remains negative, they will pursue the debt. PP have already refunded him and you now owe PP the money, not him. Stupid system I know.

The Buyer is claiming that the Dreambox is a clone, paypal Informed me that they have verified the claim that the box is a fake form the Buyer, hw they have done that I do not Understand.

I missed that in the OP that the buyer has already been refunded.

Was it definitely a Paypal dispute,or was it an Ebay one ?
#11
If its a fake item the buyer does not have to return to seller....the buyer is normally instructed to destroy it.....op is screwed
#12
I guess I am, I might as well go around buying clone boxes off ebay and opening paypal dispute after receiving the items..
#13
but am still baffled what criteria did paypal used in concluding that the item is fake?
banned#14
well what did they say when you rang them?
#15
what no, i received a fake iphone over ebay and was told by paypal to return the item. I once even received an empty envelope and again was told to return the envelope.

I am suprised that they have not got him to return the item.

I called up FSA about 4 weeks ago and they sent a letter to paypal explaining my grievance and paypal contacted me to supply my account details again...however meanwhile I am being harassed by paypal's Debt recovery agent called iQor they even went as far as sending me a solicitor's request to pay up or get a court summon. They call my Mobile and House phone 2-3 times everyday.
