Hey,
Can anyone give advice about this?

I bought items from an ebay seller (all fine), upon receiving them I realised they weren't suitable, so I asked if I could return them and have a refund - they said fine (their listings say they do return/refund). I returned them, and have heard nothing since in 3 weeks, despite sending about 4 emails - they just ignore me. Yet they've sold on the items (with bids higher than what I paid), and are still active, but it seems they just don't want to give me the refund they promised.

There's dispute centres on paypal (which I used) and ebay, but it seems only regarding if you "haven't received (a) item"

What can I do about this guys? Shall I just persue the paypal "item dispute" route?

I would pursue your claim through paypal as if the seller wont respond to you, this really is your only option if you want to get your refund. You can contact paypal by phone if you need to explain your case to them

Exit75 you say the items you received were not suitable. Do you mean that they were just not what you wanted or were they not as descibed on the auction page?

What were the exact sellers terms and conditions regarding returns ?

Did you send the items back to the seller by trackable means ?

If you want any real help you would probabaly have to supply the ebay item number as it's difficult to offer advice when so little is known.
Ebay links are not allowed on here but you can post the item number or if you prefer privacy and you still want help you can PM it to me and I'll try and help you.

You can request the contact details of the seller on ebay and then call them. I always do this if there is a problem.:)

I have had a similar problem before!

I bought an item but when i received it it was the wrong size so i contacted the seller who told me to return it and they would issue a refund. I kept contacting the seller and no reply so i started a dispute, eventually they answered and said it was lost in the post and I claimed from the post office.

Trouble is if you have returned it paypal will only pay out if you have tracking on the parcel and can prove it was received back.

If you have proof of posting and can't get an answer, I would just claim it as a lost parcel from the post office!

if you have already sent the item back but not recorded, send an envelope recorded and use that tracking number. if the seller doesnt want to play fair then play dirty. and claim through paypal.

It was like jaidenslot said, they were clothes items that didn't fit - the sizes were in the listing details, but certainly weren't accurate.
Their return policy was 7 days; I emailed to check too, and they agreed (got it all in writing ;-)). I did return the item with proof and have a code from the post office. But it's obvious they got it anyway since the rare items have been sold by them again since.

I will give them a few more days to respond, then report the dispute to paypal.
Thanks for all your input everyone

There's only a certain time period in which you can claim through paypal. If I were you I'd check or start the calim immediately.

Hope all turns out well for you :)

You can put a dispute on without taking it to a claim, its mean't to help resolve the matter before taking it to a full claim. Paypal give you 20 days for this to either take it to the next step or cancel it if resolved.
Try this it might just jolt them into responding.
I would guess if you do get a response they will say they never received it in which case you can claim against the post office.

I have opened the dispute via paypal, it's within their 45 days of payment policy.
They'll look foolish if they claim they never received it, since they obviously sold the items again since, and how would they explain not bothering to reply to me?
Ah well, we'll see what happens.
