If you open a dispute and you receive an eBay message saying the seller has offered a refund do not reply to it as this is a glitch that closes the case before a refund has been issued, I have been through this myself and customer service admitted this was a known glitch!

I have to say after the horror stories I have heard about eBay customer service I was not looking forward to the call but they was surprisingly helpful and efficient.

Between getting off the phone and checking my ebay the following message was waiting:

"Refund information:
We have issued a courtesy credit of £56.50 to your PayPal account."

And the email from paypal

Dear ********,

eBay ruled in your favour in your dispute case about your purchase from ***********, and a full refund of 56.50 GBP was sent to your PayPal account.

Please allow 3-5 working days for the refund to be received in your account. eBay will then consider the dispute closed. If you have any questions, please go to the eBay Resolution Centre.

Logged into paypal and the funds was already there.
